HaiyaTheWin

HaiyaTheWin (talk · contribs · count) I have worked on a few articles in the past, but I always feel like I am doing something wrong, or there is something I am missing. I would like to be reviewed so that people can give me advice on places where I've done something wrong or I have missed something. HaiyaTheWin IS The Win! 18:53, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?
I just recently became active on Wikipedia since creating my account last summer. I have started the article Cheley Camp and I have made some edits to some other articles, one of my favorite articles is Clochette cheese. I have yet to find one subject which really interests me, so I am currently jumping around, trying a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I also patrol new pages and recent changes, as well as welcome new users. I also generally watchlist the pages I edit, so I can also watch for vandalism from my watchlist.
  2. Have you been in any disputes over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
As far as I can remember, I've never been in any major editing disputes. I have, however, been somewhat hasty to warn people or revert edits or propose the deletion of articles. I am going to try to talk to people more, and try to talk out the problem. If I can't, and the problem continues, I will report it and hope that an administrator could deal with it better than I can.

Optional Questions from Doc Quintana

  1. Why did you come to Wikipedia, and what do you get out of it? Doc Quintana (talk) 01:03, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As I said above, I first came to Wikipedia last summer. I was spending a couple weeks at MathPath, and a lot of my friends were really into Wikipedia. I've always used Wikipedia when curious for facts, so I decided to join. I first worked MathPath, but after that didn't really use my account again until this past december. I find it a fun way to work with people, and it helps me learn fun trivia. It also gives me a feeling of accomplishment when I edit a page, and after all the facts Wikipedia has given me, I like to give back to it.

Reviews

  • User conduct
  • Edit summaries: You generally use them, and this helps other editors to see what is happening to the article without having to look at every change!
  • Constructive comments on talk pages: The few comments I can find show that you are thinking about how to improve articles, which is what they are meant for!
  • Attitude towards others: Again, not much to judge this from - most of the messages I see are welcome messages! The others seem friendly enough, but as I say, there isn't enough to really judge at the moment.
  • Edits
  • Automated Edits: About a quarter of your edits are automated (using Twinkle and Friendly), and they seem to be used accurately.
  • Article vs non-article: A bit under a quarter (76) of your edits are to articles - only slightly more than edits to your user page (55), with a third of your edits being to user talk pages - a lot of these are welcomes.
  • Summary
  • It's hard to say too much at the moment, as you only have a total of 337 edits (including the 15 deleted ones) in the 6½ months that you have been editing on Wikipedia. Keep up the good work, but if possible do more article edits than you do at the moment. I notice that most of your edits were last month - hopefully this is an indication of future trends!
I hope this has been helpful, let me know if you have any questions. 20:03, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, Thanks. I opened my account last summer to work on an article for a camp I was going to (MathPath). I didn't use it again until I was bored this winter break and decided to come back and work here. I've found it much more enjoyable since then, and I haven't stopped yet. Joining up with a project or two that interests you is a good way to get sucked in. ;) It's getting back out that's the hard part. ChildofMidnight (talk) 01:52, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
