- Category:Mayors of Sligo to Category:Mayors of Sligo (town) – C2C: per Category:People from Sligo (town). Armbrust The Homunculus 12:50, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Object As Sligo County Council does not have a mayor, it has a Cathaoirleach, this title is not ambiguous, the move would create unnecessary precision, at the very least this need further discussion among people with Irish affairs. PatGallacher (talk) 13:09, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment. The Sligos in Ireland are not the only consideration. There are other places in the world called "Sligo", some of which may have mayors: see Sligo (disambiguation). Good Ol’factory (talk) 23:08, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Reply We have categories like "Mayors of Moscow" even though the Russian city is not the only place of this name. PatGallacher (talk) 19:29, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- In the abstract, I would not be opposed to using Category:Mayors of Sligo. However, I am opposed to the category being in a different format than its immediate parents, which are Category:People from Sligo (town) and Category:Sligo (town). Category:Mayors of Moscow is formatted how it is because we have Category:Moscow and Category:People from Moscow. The way to change a format is to propose changing the format, not to create subcategories that use a different one. Good Ol’factory (talk) 23:15, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
