The result was redirect to Statistical hypothesis testing. There is clear consensus that this should not be an article. It is less clear whether it should be merged or redirected, and where to. - Delete or move to machine learning or an area that is not considered as part of statistics. This is not a statistical term; there is such a thing as a threshold in statistics (the most commonly used one would be cutoffs and crossover points in statistical mechanics) but this is not it.Limit-theorem (talk) 21:03, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- Redirect to Statistical significance. Merge would be OK, too, but there isn't much to merge. A simple WP:BEFORE search shows that the term is used as a synonym for "threshold of statistical significance", e.g., in papers like Selection of Statistical Thresholds in Graphical Models, Diagnostic Thresholds of Medical Measurements (starting on the second page), and The thresholds for statistical and clinical significance – a five-step procedure for evaluation of intervention effects in randomised clinical trials (used twice in the body of the paper). That the term is in use in reliable sources shows it to be a plausible search term and so a redirect is warranted. --Mark viking (talk) 18:17, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- Redirect to Statistical hypothesis testing, rather than to the less related concept Statistical significance. Right now this article is more of a dictionary definition, although there is slightly more meat on its bones. More could be said about the process of setting (determining) appropriate thresholds, but that could well fit within Statistical hypothesis testing, or possibly a new Statistical hypothesis construction. Otherwise, statistical thresholds are sui generis within each application. - Delete. This page is just gibberish. Threshold values abound in statistical methods, but I've never heard of anything being called a "statistical threshold"; redirecting to Statistical hypothesis testing doesn't make much more sense than redirecting to e.g. linear classifier.
