The film The Girl Who Leapt Through Time was released in the US last year and the UK earlier this year... as a result, Hanako Oku's albums are available to buy now in English online music stores (such as Amazon) and in specialist music shops in England. If you look through the J-Pop and Japanese female singers categories in Wikipedia, there are many other artists who many are listed, that many English speakers will not have heard of... yet they are considered notable enough for inclusion in the English Wikipedia, alongside their counterparts on other language wiki's.
