Delete. Note that this is about a small chain of supermarkets in Mexico. Google News finds a number of apparently incidental mentions in Spanish. The Spanish sources mentioning this in context almost always refer to Arteli shops as tiendas, which suggests that they are small operations whose interiors are dominated by a large glass butcher's or baker's style display counter; local food shops, not really a "supermarket" in U.S. English terms. - Smerdis of Tlön - killing the human spirit since 2003! 15:17, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - It seems it would be prudent to have notified the self-proclaimed AfD advocate who created the article prior to the nomination for deletion, User:Eddie.willers. Failure to consult with him seems very strange as it is specifically prescribed by the deletion process regarding articles that may not be notable. -- CáliKewlKid (talk) 09:15, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - so, I'm a "self-proclaimed AfD advocate", eh? Infamy at last! In honesty, and after thinking about this for a while, the Arteli group of supermarkets (yes, most of them are quite small and fit into older, converted buildings rather than purpose-built structures) is only notable in Mexico as it's founder was involved in Tampico's local politics. The company (and it's founder) have little influence outside a small geographical area. If I were coming to this article afresh (not as original author) I would probably be calling for its deletion under WP:GNG. Eddie.willers (talk) 16:28, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - My mistake, should it be self-proclaimed "Cleanup Prowler?" (though that sounds a bit like the chap that goes through the trash barrels... well, chaps). In any case, it's good that you could be reached for comment. -- CáliKewlKid (talk) 17:32, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
