Hi there. I do not believe that consensus reached on the deletion of the Black Hand. I believe you made an error in deleting that page, and would like to give you an opportunity to reverse the decision, as it improves the thouroughness of Wikipedia--Nick Dillinger 08:51, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Hey. I'm doing a survey to find the most liked songs of all time. So far I have over 300 songs in the list. I was hoping that you would be willing to contribute your top ten. Hi Whouk. As you closed the above AFD as no consensus, I think it's good form to let you know I'm going to take it to WP:DRV - I even tried to warn any closing administrator not to just count votes, as AFD is not a vote, and take into account the quality of arguments. Clearly (in my biased-against-gamecruft viewpoint) that didn't happen, and so it's off to deletion review. Thanks, Proto///type 12:05, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The trouble with AFD is that a special interest group (such as the RuneScape project members) is able to block vote keep on anything relating to their area of interest. Unless an administrator is able to make tough calls and exercise their judgement to apply long-standing and non-negotiable policy (such as WP:NOT) over the views of a special interest who will say anything - even barefaced lies - as long as it keeps their cruft on Wikipedia, the problems will continue. Proto///type 12:27, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know everyone must say this, but I think you've been hasty ! Everyone thinks we fans ONLY have opinions on Doctor Who. A link to my site is relevant on that basis, i.e the link is implicit not explicit. Maybe there are people out there who LOVE doctor who like me, but dont what to ONLY read about doctor who.
Go on, let me off with this one, please ! It's a perfectly legitimate non-commercial site.. posted on the premise that it's by a fan but NOT who content-centric. how about I list it at the bottom?
Awaiting your consideration....

My apoligies. I got the cast list for John Lumic not from www.unitnews.co.uk/forum/ archive/index.php/t-1113-p-2.html who, in turn, got their source from Outpost Gallifrey who, earlier on, indicated that the Mirror Universe version of John Lumic would appear in the episode Army of Ghosts, though not as the Cyberman creator his counterpart was. I'm good thankyou, just editing as usual. I had to re-insert the Sally Phelon cast listing, because I know that she's at least in it, since that's been on the Bill for ages and an Email from the BBC told me that she was listed as being Sally in their production notes.

There is no Guthrie Theatre in Stratfird Ontario. The Guthrie Theatre is in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Shakespeare Festvial in Stratford Ontario is sometimes merely referred to as "Stratfrod, Ontario." Kristin Linklater has worked at these two different theatres in two different places. I know this first hand and it is substantiated by her web site.
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.

Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!

Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.
Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

I thought you would be amused to reflect on Wikipedia's distinction between truth and verifiability in regard to the article on Jack Straw. I find it quite entertaining that the claim in the last paragraph of the "early life" section is impeccably verified - from LUU's own papers, no less - and although it's entirely untrue, there's no possible way of providing a reliable source to verify that some vandal scratched his name off the Presidents' Board long before the motion revoking his life membership was ever thought of...
So go the forces of historical revision (in Wikipedia and student unions as, I suspect, in life...) Tom Harris 15:38, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you have listed yourself as a Wikipedian in London, so I thought you might like to come to one of our monthly social meetups. The next one is going to be on Sunday 10 August, which might well be rather short notice, but if you can't come this time, we try to have one every second Sunday of the month.
If you haven't been before, these meetups are mainly casual social events for Wikipedia enthusiasts in which we chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy. It's a great way to meet some very keen Wikipedians, but we'd also love for you to come along if you're interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, or other collaborative wiki projects too.
The location is a pub that is quite quiet and family friendly on a Sunday lunchtime, so hopefully younger Wikipedians will also feel welcome and safe. Alcohol consumption is certainly not required!
Although the meetups are popular, many UK-based editors still don't know about them. It would be great to welcome some fresh faces, so I hope you can come along.

I have nominated Lorna Bennett (actor), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lorna Bennett (actor). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for uploading File:Clockwise.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 03:29, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybaleamphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.
Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity[edit]
Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts.
