You recently changed the spelling of a word in Glossary of nautical terms from American to British. This article appears to use American English spelling, though SailorSpeak™ is traditionally a language all its own.  :-) The Wikipedia Manual of Style discusses techniques and conventions for dealing with regional spelling differences at WP:ENGVAR. Maybe you think we're joking, but we are not. Please read and understand the National varieties of English guidelines in the Manual of style. Please do not change local spelling of English. Regardless of what you think ought to be Wikipedia's policy on the Queen's English, it is not that way. Actually, I had nothing to do with the polices or guidelines relating to this issue that I listed above, which were in existance long before I joined Wikipedia. I do enforce them becuase they are guidelines, not just because I agree with them. I often enforce guidelines, and especially policies, that I disagree with because they are the guidelines. If I disagree strongly with them, there are ways to go about changing them through the discussion/consensus process, rather than by forcing my views contrary to guidelinespage by page.

Continuing to change spelling in articles agianst MOS guidelines is condidered disruptive editing, and can result in administrative action being taken against you. As I am not an administrator, all I can do is post warnings, ar ask an admin to intervene though several options. The admin could then issue you further warnings, after which, if your actions continue, could result in you being blocked from editing anywhere from 24 hours to indefinetly. Those aren't threats, but actions that all WIki editors are permitted to take.

I find it odd that you dislike my so-called "American" imperialism, yet want to relpace it with British imperialsim masquerading as "democracy". So Americans wanting to be able to use their legitimate language on articles on American subjects is "imperialism", but forcing ALL articles to conform to the "Queen's English" is democracy? Uh, no wonder the British Empire fell. The "local language" guidelines don't exist soley to allow Americans to use their quaint spellings and grammar rules. It also apples to Australian, Canadian, Caribbean, South African, South Asian, and all other forms and varieties of English that exist in the world, which don't all strictly follow the Queen's English either. Actually, in my experience, the use of different loval variants of English works very well. The only difficulty occurs when new users insist on ignoring the guidelines after being made aware of Wiki's language policy. The best place to debate changing the guidelines would be on Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style, where I saw at least 3 separate discussion on the issue on first glance.
