Lidocaine[edit]

Yeah, it's pretty short isn't it? At the moment I'm waiting for an English-Arabic medical dictionary to arrive from amazon. When that happens I expect to contribute more substantially to the arabic wiki. If you wish to delete the lidocaine article b/c it is so small i raise no objection.

Thanks for the welcome! I do a lot (if not most) of the cross language transwiki which comes out of WP:PNT, which explains why I have accounts on many different languages. Translation request[edit]

Hello, I saw that you are a native speaker of Arabic, so I would like to ask you if you could take a look at 2003 invasion of Iraq and Iraq War. There is a featured article in Arabic which we would like to know how it could be used the English one which is of course dominated by people who have either been there as soldiers or have their knowledge from western media. Someone also asked if the section about "related propaganda and phrases" could be amplified with information about the Iraqi side. Maybe there are also people who took photos in Iraq at the Arabic version? Nameme 16:18, 2 March 2006 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Could you please move this picture to Commons? I'd like to use it in my article about Omar Mokhtar. Thanks --Man pl 16:38, 18 March 2006 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Template:Islam[edit]

Hi there, The Islam template is used in all Islam related articles and it carries an image of the mosque, if you take a close look at the other religion templates they all carry an icon that actually symbolizes the particular religion. The question is what symbolizes Islam? As a muslim you would agree that we cannot Idolize any symbol as sacred as it would be Shirk. So the next question is what kind of icon would correctly represent Islam and Muslims? It is undoubtedly the Shahada, because without it we wouldn't be muslims. So I have suggested to change the template image from a masjid to a Masjid with the Shahada in it. In order to have the image in the template I need build some consense, could you kindly visit the talk page (Template_talk:Islam) and make your suggestion, lets have the template change so it will correctly represent Islam. (You do not have to support it if you dont like it). thanks in advance.  «Mÿšíc»  (T) 11:03, 16 May 2006 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Image tagging for Image:عبد_الرحمن_عزام.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:عبد_الرحمن_عزام.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Non-free use disputed for Image:Fuad II of Egypt.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Fuad II of Egypt.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. Unspecified source for Image:Skenderbeu_2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Skenderbeu_2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the ((GFDL-self)) tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as ((non-free fair use in|article name)) or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:34, 13 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 04:34, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ill Arafat Image[edit]

Salaam Tarawneh, I'm taking part in working on making the Yasser Arafat article on the English wikipedia a featured article and one of characteristics of an FA article are the existence of multiple images. I recently added the Ill Arafat image to the article but due to license and source problems it was removed. Since you are the author or original carrier of this image on wikipedia, I am requesting that you add it to the article.

If you are interested in working on other improvements in the article, See, Peer Review for Yasser Arafat Thanks, -- Al Ameer son —The preceding signed but undated comment was added at 02:36:46, August 19, 2007 (UTC).

Arabian Gulf page[edit]

Hello Mr.Tarawneh

i read your comments about Arabian Gulf Maps in the Arabian Gulf talk page (in Arabic),

you mentioned that the maps from www.arabiangulfmaps.com cannot be posted that they dont have sources like who painted them,

i was looking through that site and it does mention information about the author and the date of the maps.

for example a map

named: Turcici Imperrii Imago

Author: Abraham ortelius

Year: 1550

clearly shows that the Arabian/Persian gulf named as "Sinus Arabicus"

this map along with many other maps from that site shows that the term Arabian Gulf is not a new term made by Gamal Abdunaser in the 60s.

in addition to that other names which are not mentioned is also the Akkaian and Sumerian names such as the Lower sea and the Bitter sea, thats even before the persians had their first empire. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ioj (talkcontribs) 12:03, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Links[edit]

Hi, the links are

http://www.arabiangulfmaps.com/

just click on maps, then select any of the maps and it will give you details of the map.

and this link http://www.jameswbell.com/geog001sumerianwaterways.html

about the Sumerian names for the gulf which are Lower sea , Bitter Sea and the Sea of the rising sun.

other names such as Sea of Elcatif ( a city in Saudi Arabia now) also seen in the map here http://www.antiquemaps.co.uk/mapdetail.asp?id=153

and here along with Sinus Arabicus http://www.betzmaps.com/AS-155.html

in this map http://www.betzmaps.com/images/aaf-395.jpg the name persian gulf is mentioned but it also mention another name "mare di mesendin" i guss its a name on an island on the strait.

so can you please edit the english and the arabic pages since iam not familiar with the system here and at least add the information that other names other than persian gulf do/did exist.

so far there are like 8 names

1-Sea of the Rising sun 2-Bitter sea 3-Lower sea 4-persian Gulf 5-arabian Gulf 6-Sea of Elcatif 7-sea of mesendin ( or musandam). 8-Busra Gulf (used by the Turks)

Could I have 2 mins of your time? As I’ll be working on some other projects for Wikimedia Germany as well from now on the time I can spend on Wikidata will be reduced. This means I’ll have to figure out what is useful to spend time on. If you’re reading this could you let me know for example on this discussion page? Also if you have ideas how to improve the weekly summaries please post them. --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, Tarawneh. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
