Did you happen to get any photos that would help illustrate U.S. Route 2 in Michigan. The article is at A-Class Review and headed to FAC at some point later this year. Sadly, the article, for all of its length, is woefully under-illustrated. Imzadi 1979 → 01:22, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi-I started the Rockwood, Wisconsin article. I also started one on Shoto, Wisconsin for I noticed a photo of Shoto Creek. I like doing articles on the unincorporated communities in Wisconsin; each community is unique. Right now I am going through a case of political burnout and Wikipedia has nothing to do with it. My area just had a recall election Wisconsin Senate and now we are going to have a special election to fill a Wisconsin Assembly seat. So I am relunctant to start articles about politicians although I am willing to help improve existing articles. I hope you are well-RFD (talk) 17:03, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Article of the month – Darlington Record Club
The Unocal-Darlington Record Club was a club in the NASCAR Grand National and Winston Cup Series from 1959 to about 2001, based at Darlington Raceway. Membership was achieved based on setting qualifying records during time trials for the annual Southern 500 held on Labor Day weekend. During its heyday, it was considered one of the most prestigious and exclusive clubs in motorsports. The club was sponsored by longtime NASCAR sponsor Unocal/Union 76. Previously it was sponsored by Pure Oil. At some time after the 2001 season, the club was quietly retired. The club ended permanently when Unocal left the sport in 2003, and the Southern 500 was removed from the schedule after 2004.The original eight charter members were selected in 1959: Dick Joslin (Dodge), Marvin Panch (Ford), Joe Caspolich (Oldsmobile), Bob Burdick (Thuderbird), Speedy Thompson (Chevrolet), Richard Petty (Plymouth), Elmo Langley (Buick), and Fireball Roberts (Pontiac). Roberts was selected as the first president; Former Darlington Raceway president Bob Colvin contributed in creating the club. Article of the month – 2010 Ford 400, a Good Article
The 2010 Ford 400 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race that was held on November 21, 2010 at Homestead Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. The 267 lap race was the thirty-sixth in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as well as the final race in the ten-race Chase for the Sprint Cup, which ends the season. The race was won by Carl Edwards for the Roush Fenway Racing team. Jimmie Johnson finished second, and Kevin Harvick clinched third. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead on the first lap of the race. Edwards started in the second position on the grid, and became the leader of the race on the fourth lap. Shortly after a restart on lap 22, championship leader Denny Hamlin spun sideways, resulting with damage to his splitter. Martin Truex, Jr. took the lead on lap 73, but after the final pit stops Edwards was first. He maintained the lead to win the race, having led it for 192 laps. A total of 67,000 people attended the race, while 5.605 million watched it on television. There were ten cautions in the race, as well as twenty-five lead changes among nine different drivers. Edwards' victory was his second win in the 2010 season, with the first coming the previous week at the Kobalt Tools 500. Jimmie Johnson won the Drivers' Championship, 39 points ahead of Denny Hamlin. Johnson's team owner Rick Hendrick won the Owners' Championship. Chevrolet won the Manufacturer Championship with 261 points, 44 points ahead of Toyota. Thanks for the barnstar, but you may have awarded it prematurely. Unfortunately, Google Maps doesn't yield the same distance in both directions. If you go from the survey marker to Ft. Robinson, it gives a distance of 577 miles; but if you go in the opposite direction, it comes up with a route that's only 552 miles long. I think User:Visitor7 beat me fair and square on this one. The 2011 Subway Fresh Fit 500 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held on February 27, 2011 at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. But I have a favor to ask. Can you double check that a photo is appropriate to the article before adding it? I removed the photo you added to U.S. Route 131 because it was inappropriately placed in the article. The section where you added it was about the early history of that highway. In fact, the paragraph of text next to contained content about the Indian trail in the area that preceded US 131 and even a time when Mark Twain rode along the predecessor to the highway in the 19th century. A photo from 2011 showing the modern terminus doesn't fit. The section where it would fit already has a photo though, so for now, I can't find a replacement location for it.
As for the photo in U.S. Route 31, that doesn't show US 31 at all, just I-75, so it's not going to fit there either. I did leave the one from Bayview in U.S. Route 31 in Michigan alone because I'll move it into the route description at a later date when I rewrite and expand that section. However, photo captions don't get terminal punctuation unless they are a full sentence, so I struck the period. Imzadi 1979 → 07:00, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Article of the month – Phoenix International Raceway - B-class article
Phoenix International Raceway, also known as PIR, is a one-mile, low-banked tri-oval race track located in Avondale, Arizona. The track opened in 1964 and currently hosts two NASCAR race weekends annually. PIR has also hosted the Indycar Series, CART, USAC and the Rolex Sports Car Series. The raceway is currently owned and operated by International Speedway Corporation. The raceway was originally constructed with a 2.5 miles (4.0 km) road course that ran both inside and outside of the main tri-oval. In 1991 the track was reconfigured with the current 1.51 miles (2.43 km) interior layout. PIR has an estimated grandstand seating capacity of around 67,000. Lights were installed around the track in 2004 following the addition of a second annual NASCAR race weekend. Dear Royalbroil,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.
Sincerely,

Article of the month – 2010 Auto Club 500, a Good Article
The 2010 Auto Club 500 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held on February 21, 2010 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. Contested over 250 laps, it was the second race of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season. The race was won by Jimmie Johnson for the Hendrick Motorsports team. Kevin Harvick finished second, and Jeff Burton, who started fourteenth, clinched third. Pole position driver Jamie McMurray maintained his lead into the first corner, but Juan Pablo Montoya, who had started in the second position on the grid, took the lead before the first lap was over. Afterward, Johnson became the leader, and would eventually lead to the race high of 101 laps. During the final pit stops, Johnson was on pit lane as the caution flag came out. Burton, who led the race during Johnson's pit stop, did not pass Johnson to put him a lap down. Therefore, Johnson retained the first position upon the completion of his pit stop. On the final lap, Harvick was gaining on Johnson, but Johnson maintained his position to win his first race of the season. There were six caution flags and twenty-eight lead changes among fourteen different drivers throughout the course of the race. The result moved Johnson up twenty-three spots to tenth in the Drivers' Championship, 78 points behind of leader Kevin Harvick and one ahead of Kyle Busch. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, eight points points ahead of Toyota and nine ahead of Ford, with thirty-four races remaining in the season. Yes, you are totally right. My bad, and I'm deeply sorry about that. :( However, I can't stand anymore the way he edit stuff on Wikipedia. Always adding fake or innacurate info (since 2006!), editing stuff he doesn't know about, etc etc. It's really sad... --Hydao (talk) 03:41, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi-Do you have any photos about Auroraville, Wisconsin in Waushara County? Auroraville is in the town of Aurora, Waushara County, Wisconsin and there is a photo of the town in the article. One of the editors redirected the Auroraville article and I change the redirect into an article. Also Auroraville is on one of the main highways. Thanks-RFD (talk) 11:43, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi-I had to revert an editor's changes to the Steinthal, Wisconsin article. The editor added info and a photo about some lodge in Steinthal. I had questions about it; commercial advertising and possible copyright concerns. I did add a GNIS citation to the article. Would you please take a look? Thank you-RFD (talk) 22:08, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Royalbroil! Thank you for your help and approving my article! I have one quick question with regards to images. I totally understand why the picture was deleted as what you told me about copyright and in hindsight it does makes sense, so my question is can the person who took the picture upload to it into wikipedia and put it on the article himself as an edit on the article that I created? Thanks once again! :)

Hi, Royal. I undid your change, moving the Frank Upham House photo back to the Upham House Historic District. The Frank Upham House is different from the Governor William Upham House, a.k.a. the Upham Mansion. I'd like to put up a photo of the William Upham House, but a man there (well-meaning, no doubt) told me not to. So I'll leave that for someone else.
The Frank Upham house is one of the oldest and classiest in the district and Frank was connected to lumbering, so it seems a good representative. Jeff the quiet (talk) 16:45, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Hey, it's interesting to consider the progress of development of Wikipedia coverage of NRHP historic sites in Wisconsin. Here is a July 6, 2008 version of List of RHPs in WI. I put in a bunch of work "table-izing" to get it to this August 4, 2008 version and more to bring it to this version of 17 February 2010 (plus all the split out list-articles for Waupaca County, etc., etc.). You made many edits before and during and since adding a lot of pics and detail; my work was on the structure. Maybe you didn't really notice it much, but I thought I did a great job during that process with recording and then addressing many "research issues" that took into account details added by you and others previous to the table-izing process, rather than obliterating that info. And I have done most of the work setting up NRHP disambiguation pages nation-wide, which enabled many semi-automated edits properly disambiguating the names for Wisconsin NRHPs. I dunno, I think we shouldn't completely forget about all the past work, which laid the groundwork for more editors to contribute into a great framework. Everything I did was towards being friendly, towards making it easy for many new and experienced editors to collaborate and absorb new energy and create new understanding of our heritage. I do wonder though, what happened; I would have thought there would be a lot more activity since, and am sorry to see so few articles in Wisconsin developed. I hope you are friendly to new editors who show up and want to try to contribute. There's nothing I hate more than seeing bullying of new editors, or experienced editors for that matter, for whatever they didn't do, when in fact they are contributing, making positive improvements that add up in a big way eventually. It's awfully easy to criticize and to kill off any developing community and momentum. I do recall some real friendship, limited of course by the nature of the internet and all that, and hope we could continue that. But anyhow, keep up the good work. Cheers. --doncram 18:52, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Article of the month – 2010 Sylvania 300
The 2010 Sylvania 300 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held on September 19, 2010, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire. The 300 lap race was the twenty-seventh in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as well as the first race in the ten-race Chase for the Sprint Cup, which ends the season. Clint Bowyer, of the Richard Childress Racing team, won the race, with Denny Hamlin finishing second, and Jamie McMurray third. Pole position driver Brad Keselowski maintained his lead in the first lap, but in the second lap Tony Stewart pulled ahead. Chase for the Sprint Cup participants Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, and Hamlin were in the top ten for most of the race, but in the closing laps all of them suffered spins or other problems. Hamlin was the only one to recover and finish in the top five. With two laps remaining, Tony Stewart was leading the race when he ran out of fuel, giving the lead to Bowyer, who also led the most laps in the race with 176. There were eight cautions and twenty-three lead changes among eight different drivers during the race. The race was Clint Bowyer's first win in the 2010 season, and the third of his career. The result advanced Bowyer to second in the Drivers' Championship, thirty-five points behind Hamlin and ten ahead of Kevin Harvick, but because of a penalty three days after the race, he fell to twelfth in the standings. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, thirty-two points ahead of Toyota and seventy-four ahead of Ford, with nine races remaining in the season. A total of 95,000 people attended the race, while 3.68 million watched it on television. Article of the month – Tim Richmond - a Good Article
Tim Richmond (June 7, 1955 – August 13, 1989) was an American race car driver from Ashland, Ohio. He competed in IndyCar racing before transferring to NASCAR's Winston Cup Series (now Sprint Cup Series). Richmond was one of the first drivers to change from open wheel racing to NASCAR stock cars full-time, which has since become an industry trend. He won the 1980 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award and had 13 victories during eight NASCAR seasons. Richmond achieved his top NASCAR season in 1986 when he finished third in points. He won seven races that season, more than any other driver on the tour. When he missed the season-opening Daytona 500 in February 1987, media reported that he had pneumonia. The infection most likely resulted from his compromised immune system, which was weakened by AIDS. The disease drastically shortened his life. Despite the state of his health, Richmond competed in eight races in 1987, winning two events and one pole position before his final race in August of that year. He attempted a comeback in 1988 before NASCAR banned him for testing positive for a banned substance; after NASCAR insisted on access to his entire medical record before reinstating him, Richmond withdrew from racing. NASCAR later stated their original test was inaccurate. Richmond grew up in a wealthy family and lived a freewheeling lifestyle, earning him the nickname "Hollywood". In describing Richmond's influence in racing, Charlotte Motor Speedway president Humpy Wheeler said: "We've never had a race driver like Tim in stock car racing. He was almost a James Dean-like character." When Richmond was cast for a bit part in the 1983 movie Stroker Ace, "He fell right in with the group working on the film," said director Hal Needham. Cole Trickle, the main character in the movie Days of Thunder, played by Tom Cruise, was loosely based on Richmond and his interaction with Harry Hyde and Rick Hendrick. Hi-first many thanks for the photos of the various communities along Lake Winnebago-the signs. They are very interesting photos Also do you have any photos of the Gibraltar Rock State Natural Area in Columbia County. A new article about it just came up. I just hope it does not get entangled with the GibraltarWikipedia project mess involving the British territory of Gibraltar and DYK. The Gibraltar Rock Natural Area article was nominated for DYK. I did located the town that the natural area is located in Columbia County. I will let User LauraHale know that I am concern about the Gibraltar project mess and that I hope the Gibraltar Rock article will not be entanged in it-thanks-RFD (talk) 13:15, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
With so much hubbub going on with the GibraltarpediA project, I decided to poke a little fun at the chaos by writing about a different Gibraltar. As a result, your photo of the Gibraltar District School No. 2 in Door County is up for DYK. Nyttend (talk) 03:22, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
[1] previous edit was NOT vandalism. Twinkle's vandalism link loaded under the Undo link. Also added rationale.] (this was made eight minutes before you wrote on my talk page. And then [2] After further reviewing, accessibility is not a requirement of either WP:RS or WP:V. They also updated Facebook to indicate that it was their final song. This was made as you were writing on my talk page. So no, I don't think you're a vandal. I think that Twinkle took too long to load and I hit the Vandalism button by mistake. Please accept my apologies. Feel free to update the reference to reflect the Facebook post as it's more easily read. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:28, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for closing the discussion on the Nomination for deletion on Patricia Monaghan. It is part of a list of over a dozen noms by the same editor in a 2-3 day period (that I know of). Perhaps you could look at the following five which, IMO, seem to be pretty much decided. LaSara FireFox, Kenny Klein, M. Macha Nightmare, Trance Mission and Luisah Teish. Totally up to you, of course. Thank you for your attention.Rosencomet (talk) 15:15, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

It appears that the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway website has extensively copied material from the Fairgrounds Speedway article, much of it yours; basically everything from Track History to List of Notable Weekly Drivers. Article of the month – Daytona International Speedway
Daytona International Speedway is a race track in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. Since opening in 1959, it has been the home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR. In addition to NASCAR, the track also hosts races of ARCA, AMA Superbike, Grand-Am and Motocross. The track features multiple layouts including the primary 2.5 miles (4.0 km) high speed tri-oval, a 3.56 miles (5.73 km) sports car course, a 2.95 miles (4.75 km) motorcycle course, and a .25 miles (0.40 km) karting and motorcycle flat-track. The track's 180-acre (73 ha) infield includes the 29-acre (12 ha) Lake Lloyd, which has hosted powerboat racing. The speedway is owned and operated by International Speedway Corporation. The track was built in 1958 by NASCAR founder William France Sr. to host racing that was being held at the former Daytona Beach Road Course. His banked design permitted higher speeds and gave fans a better view of the cars. Lights were installed around the track in 1998, and today it is the third largest single lit outdoor sports facility. The speedway has been renovated three times, with the infield renovated in 2004, and the track repaved in 1978 and 2010.
