While neo soul is one of the genres writers have used to categorize Channel Orange (as reflected in that article), the sources you cited are both reviews of that one album, and they do not explictly say what they're being used to support. Letoile, a relatively low-key blog (WP:SPS), cites the style as a "reference point", among others such as "indie rock" and "Elton John". AV Club's review of the album only comments on Channel Orange as neo soul. Dan56 (talk) 19:15, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
I'm having difficulty seeing where the sources provided for the "R&B" designation, lack these deficiencies. They do not prove that Frank Ocean is an R&B artist. I have to ask, do you honestly not think that Frank Ocean is a Neo soul artist in any capacity? If you do, are you just unwilling to find the sources yourself? Certainly he would be considered an R&B artist first and foremost, but the neo soul elements in his music are not insignificant.--Ropo153 (talk) 19:24, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
