I am currently doing research on gender in Japanese-developed video games vs. US-developed ones, and the first phase of this involved gathering data on all video games developed in Japan that were then released in the US from the Playstation 2 era to the present. Using the Category: "Japanese video game companies" I compiled a list of all games matching those criteria and organized them by developer. I am currently in the process of entering all that information into a database, and I was wondering if/how this could be useful to Wikipedia and what I could do to assist that.

Thank you for the suggestion.
I think that you should ask in appropriate project groups. In the first instance, please post a message on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Japan and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games. If nothing else, they should be able to point you in the right direction, and you might make useful contacts.
Use a ((helpme)) - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put ((helpme)), and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR

ようこそ
You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put ((helpme)) and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
Play in your user area. For example, create User:Rein Aurre/test.
Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.
Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.
There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!
