Unbroken Chain (talk) 15:27, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Hello Peter Ormond, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Ruby Jubilee of Elizabeth II have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

In the future, we'll need an RFC covering all the 'former' monarchy articles that had Elizabeth II as their only monarch. Basically a re-do of the August 2021 RFC, only with Barbados added. Gotta get'em in sync, be it Monarchy of country or Queen of country. I don't really care which, just as long as 'one' is adopted for all of them. GoodDay (talk) 05:55, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
The RM at Monarchy of Barbados has been closed as no move, which goes opposite of the August 2021 RM. It's likely that the RM at Queen of Nigeria will be closed as no move, which goes along with the August 2021 RM. These two articles-in-question are basically the same articles - monarchies that had (will have) only 'one' monarch. So, why are we getting different results? Scratching my head, over the likely different outcomes. GoodDay (talk) 05:25, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
Holy smokes, I think my big plea on November 4, got the ball rolling for the Nigerian monarchy article's name. Congrats, now 'many more' to go :) GoodDay (talk) 17:29, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
Not sure if it'll help. But, I went through a nervous breakdown that lasted for two months. If you look at my contribs history (this year) you'll know 'when'. Among my many phobias is my 'mortality'. Being an atheist, it's something that can be overwhelming. GoodDay (talk) 18:50, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Content you added to the above articles appears to have been copied from the BBC website and the Government of Saint Lucia website, neither of which are released under a compatible license. Copying text directly from a source is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, most of the content had to be removed. Content you add to Wikipedia should be written in your own words. Please let me know if you have any questions. — Diannaa (talk) 21:13, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi, Peter Ormond, I took the Canadian GG out of the G20 box, but left the Australian in, because of the Australian head of state dispute. Don't know if an RFC is required, concerning categories & sub-categories. But, I'm planning on one, as many of the commonwealth realm governors-general have 'head of state of their countries' in such categories & sub-categories. I was reverted by an editor at the governors-general of Australia category, for example. GoodDay (talk) 21:49, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Nova Scotia Platinum Jubilee Medal.png. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. A tag has been placed on File:The Queen smiling.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/queen-elizabeth-ii-visits-the-floriade-flower-festival-on-news-photo/129686912?adppopup=true. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Reactions to the death of Elizabeth II has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This is an unsourced and inappropriate content fork.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((proposed deletion/dated))
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing ((proposed deletion/dated))
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:14, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

When adding dignitaries to List of dignitaries at the state funeral of Elizabeth II make sure to add a source and to specifically name and link the individual. Example would be please don't simply add 'President of Hungary', please add the specific officeholder such as Katalin Novák, President of Hungary. Hi, there. I just thought I would let you know that the reason I added the photos of some leaders to the Reactions to the death of Elizabeth II article was to make the article more "visually appealing" I suppose, as much of the article is a long list of names (hence why some sections I had previously paragraphed). Do you reckon that we could possibly add some photos back or do something to change the fact that the article is a super long and unattractive-looking list? - Therealscorp1an (talk) 22:10, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Queen's Service Order you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Hello, your recent change on the House of Windsor page was unnecessary. The photo used before you reverted it was much better, and he was looking at the camera. By you changing the photo, you had extended a problem that had long been over. Please do not change the photo once more, the photo there is currently a temporary fix due to a culprit that changed it. I reverted the edit and the photo before the one you'd uploaded is now up. Please note that the photo there now is the temporary and will be changed once The Royal Family has released an official picture/portrait. Please refrain from changing it again, unless consensus is made on the talk page.

Howdy, I restored my changes to the intro of the Coronation of Elizabeth II page & also took care of the repetition concerns. In the meantime, if you still oppose the changes? I'll open an RFC on both Elizabeth II's & Charles III's coronation pages. IMHO, they should be the same, concerning the UK & the other Commonwealth realms. PS - Liz had the UK & six others, where's Chuck has the UK & 14 others, of course. GoodDay (talk) 06:15, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
And if you like consistency so much, then please restore the text of all the proclamations at Proclamation of accession of Elizabeth II, to make the article consistent with Proclamation of accession of Charles III. The proclamations at the Queen's article were removed citing WP:NOTMIRROR, but I can't figure out why that doesn't apply to the King's article. Peter Ormond 💬 20:06, 15 November 2022 (UTC)

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add ((NoACEMM))

Hi, are the prime ministers of Tuvalu and Solomon Islands really appointed by the Crown? I cannot find this from their Constitutions. 219.79.89.205 (talk) 08:34, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
219.79.89.205 (talk) 08:06, 23 January 2024 (UTC)In the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu, the chief minister is elected by the Members of Parliament from amongst their number. ... . The reason why South Pacific countries diverged from the Westminster practice of the Prime Minister being appointed by the Sovereign or Governor-General was ‘both the underdeveloped state of political parties and the wish to enhance the role and authority of the legislature’.
