Hi there! I was looking through the edit history of the National Archives of Ireland and I noticed you undid my edits to the page and then put them back the next minute. I'm a student doing this for a class and for the sake of learning, and sheer curiosity, can you tell me why that was done? Is there something I can correct on the edits? A better way to format them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Archivesjam (talk • contribs) 01:04, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Guild of Copy Editors December 2018 Newsletter
Hello and welcome to the December 2018 GOCE newsletter. Here is what's been happening since the August edition. Thanks to everyone who participated in the August blitz (results), which focused on Requests and the oldest backlog month. Of the twenty editors who signed up, eleven editors recorded 37 copy edits. For the September drive (results), of the twenty-three people who signed up, nineteen editors completed 294 copy edits. Our October blitz (results) focused on Requests, geography, and food and drink articles. Of the fourteen people who signed up, eleven recorded a total of 57 copy edits. For the November drive (results), twenty-two people signed up, and eighteen editors recorded 273 copy edits. This helped to bring the backlog to a six-month low of 825 articles. The December blitz will run for one week, from 16 to 22 December. Sign up now! Elections: Nominations for the Guild's coordinators for the first half of 2019 will be open from 1 to 15 December. Voting will then take place and the election will close on 31 December at 23:59 UTC. Positions for Guild coordinators, who perform the important behind-the-scenes tasks that keep our project running smoothly, are open to all Wikipedians in good standing. We welcome self-nominations, so please consider nominating yourself if you've ever thought about helping out; it's your Guild and it doesn't run itself! Thank you all again for your participation; we wouldn't be able to achieve what we have without you! Cheers from your GOCE coordinators; Reidgreg, Baffle gab1978, Jonesey95, Miniapolis and Tdslk. Welcome to the first newsletter for the new Growth team!
The Growth Team's objective is to work on software changes that help retain new contributors in mid-size Wikimedia projects. We will be starting with Wikipedias, but we hope these changes will benefit every community.
8 ideas we consider: tell us what you think about them!
We are considering new features to build, that could retain new editors in mid-size Wikipedias. We will be testing new ideas in Czech and Korean Wikipedias, and then we'll talk to more communities (yours!) about adopting the ideas that work well.
We have posted the 8 ideas we are considering. We would really appreciate your thoughts and the thoughts from your community. Please share the ideas, and tell us what do you and your community think of those ideas before September 9.
Share your experiences with newcomers
We want to hear about what is working and what is not working for new contributors in your wiki. We also want to hear any reactions, questions, or opinions on our work. Please post on the team’s talk page, in any language!

I will do nothing to you , but god is there and he will definitely protect my sister and give her justice one daysounds like you were implying a threat, which in any case is off-topic and should never have been mentioned in the first place. Secondly, nowhere in your first message did you ever mention the number of TV shows she worked on. Welcome to the fifth newsletter for the new Growth team!
The Growth team's objective is to work on software changes that help retain new contributors in mid-size Wikimedia projects.
We began the "Personalized first day" project with the welcome survey so that we could gather information about what newcomers are trying to accomplish. The next step is to use that information to create experiences that help the newcomers accomplish their goal – actually personalizing their first day. We asked for community thoughts in the previous newsletter, and after discussing with community members and amongst our team, we are now planning two projects as next steps: "engagement emails" and "newcomer homepage".
We have published initial reports on each of the team's first two projects. These reports give the basic numbers from each project, and there are many more questions we will continue to answer in future reports. We're excited about these initial findings. They have already helped us define and design parts of our future projects.
The help panel was deployed in Czech and Korean Wikipedias on January 10. Over the past four weeks:
We think that the 20% open rate and 50% click rate are strong numbers, showing that a lot of people are looking for help, and many want to help themselves by looking at help pages. The somewhat lower numbers of asking questions (especially in Korean Wikipedia) has caused us to consider new features to allow people to help themselves. We're going to be adding a search bar to the help panel next, which will allow users to type a search that only looks for pages in the Help and Wikipedia namespaces.
What is the way to built a good help page? What blocks you when writing an help page? Your replies will help to create better help contents to newcomers, that would be used on Help panel.

Hi form Croatia. My name is Ana Maria Šuker and I work in the leading manufacturer of confectionery in south-eastern Europe - Kraš. Kraš is the owner of brand Bajadera, which is Croatian trademark - the brand and the name. On English version of Wikipedia stands that Bajadera is desert from Serbia. This is a violation of the trademark and I need to change that. I have requested that Bajadera page should be deleted. I would really appreciated your help in order to avoid any legal actions from our side. Kind regards. Ana Maria Digital Marketing Manager at Kraš d.d. Croatia Merien 1985 (talk) 17:54, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
Hi, Wikipedia page on legal threats defines legal threat as “a threat to engage in an external (real life) legal or other governmental process that would target other editors”. In my comment there is no mention on engaging legal process targeting other editors, rather just a kind request for help from your side in order to avoid any legal processes that may occur. I believe that you are aware that companies are obliged to protect their brands, especially ones that are a trademark, which Bajadera certainly is for my company.
I am very sorry that you interpreted my kind request as a legal threat, as there was no element of threat in my comment. Therefore I suggest a fresh start between us and once again kindly ask for your support in resolving this issue.
Best regards,

The Wikimedia Foundation is planning a global consultation about communication. The goal is to bring Wikimedians and wiki-minded people together to improve tools for communication.
We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis, whatever their experience, their skills or their devices.
We are looking for input from as many different parts of the Wikimedia community as possible. It will come from multiple projects, in multiple languages, and with multiple perspectives.
We are currently planning the consultation. We need your help.
We need volunteers to help talk to their communities or user groups.
You can help by hosting a discussion at your wiki. Here's what to do:
You can also help build the list of the many different ways people talk to each other.
Not all groups active on wikis or around wikis use the same way to discuss things: it can happen on wiki, on social networks, through external tools... Tell us how your group communicates.
You can read more about the overall process on mediawiki.org. If you have questions or ideas, you can leave feedback about the consultation process in the language you prefer.
Thank you! We're looking forward to talking with you.

Just ftr, CHESEDILEKA, Pranamqwe1, Pranamqwe2 and Pranamqwe3 are socks of Nsmutte. It is very likely that Pranamqwe is also a Nsmutte sock, but it could simply be a disruption-only account which Nsm saw being blocked and used the name in his regular impersonation attempts. It doesn't really matter, but in any case Pranamqwe is not the sockmaster of the others - it's either another sock of Nsmutte or an unrelated vandal. --bonadea contributions talk 17:56, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

Hey. I looked at the renaming rules and it said that a username that is similar to another could be allowed if the other user was inactive. I thought this was the case for me, but if it isn't please let me know. Thanks, dee (talk) 05:05, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Aw man, you should've read my message. That was incredibly fast, I'm impressed. Glad you believe in God, the number is thinning out. Bye173.67.139.14 (talk) 01:44, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
I see that you have deleted the draft article after all. Would it be unwise of me to recreate it? I get the user was a sock but I feel it was a valuable draft to build the article in. Rusted AutoParts 19:04, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
Hello there. I noticed that you had deleted the Draft:The Trench (upcoming film) page because it was created by a blocked user. Now, I was wondering if you could undelete the page or at least allow me to recreate it copying the current version of the page so I could recreate it. I would just like to see this draft made with the version that I had been working on as I'm devoted to the page. Trailblazer101 (talk) 12:51, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
