Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Dimow Chariali requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Heyy...I want to create a page on a town of Dhemaji, Assam, India, so I want to know how to add informations on it. Can anybody help.
As requested by you i have created a page on Dimow, but the references i am finding mentions it to be a medium-sized village. Even the census 2011 Govt of India website mentions it as a village. Please do clarify by giving suitable citations as to how you inferred that it is a town. Any sources? Any references? . Additionally you have added various educational institutions to the article. Please give suitable references for the same or else it might be removed. Please let me know for any concerns. Lakun.patra (talk) 15:24, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Donner60. I noticed that in this edit to Dimu, you removed all the content without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the page's content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Donner60 (talk) 04:05, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Dimow, Assam a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Dimow. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.
