Welcome!

Hello, Jacobw125, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Fontanne, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type ((helpme)) on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Edison (talk) 19:50, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Fontanne[edit]

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding ((hangon)) to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. See the policy Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, which says "Wikipedia is not a publisher of original thought...Original inventions. If you or a friend invented the word frindle, a drinking game, or a new type of dance move, it is not notable enough to be Wikipedia article material until multiple, independent, and reliable secondary sources report on it. Wikipedia is not for things made up one day." Placing an "under construction" on a page does not override this policy. Edison (talk) 19:50, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am contesting the deletion of my page on the fontanne. Jacobw125 (talk) 19:59, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please see my response to your comments on Talk:Fontanne. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:01, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
More is needed than saying "I contest it." See my comments on the article talk page. Edison (talk) 20:04, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Fontanne[edit]

I have nominated Fontanne, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fontanne. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. TNXMan 20:26, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sign all your posts[edit]

Please sign all your Wikipedia posts with four tildes ~~~~, like you failed to do at [1]. You are probably bright enough to figure out how to do that, if you can create and defend a hoaxalicious article. Edison (talk) 05:18, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info, but the stinging remark wasn't needed. People are allowed to forget to sign things once in a while, and there is an auto signing bot that takes care of that, just in case. Also, don't you think it's funny that the word Hoaxalicious links to a page that's been deleted? Jacobw125 (talk) 11:56, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is pretty funny. But we often delete articles about neologisms, or even dictionary definitions of common words, since an encyclopedia is not a dictionary. So we do have an article on Hoax. Edison (talk) 04:55, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removing content from AfD[edit]

Please do not remove other users' comments from talk pages or AfD discussions, as you did in this edit. This is considered vandalism and will result in your account being blocked. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:02, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
