my general attitude toward wikipedia copyediting

[edit]

cites

[edit]

Cites (and sources) should be live. Any source which is dead when i view it and bother to check, is an invalid source unless it's a server error. The internet does not forget, and therefore any sufficiently verified and accurate claim should be hosted someplace trusted and reliable. This means if the domain in a cite has been sold/traded, or the page no longer contains the information (in the form necessary to back up the "ref'd" section), i will remove it, with comment to that effect.

This is not vandalism, it's pursuing facts.

grammar, punctuation, clarity, etc

[edit]

I will occasionally make edits, be they logged in or not, to correct conciseness, grammar, spelling, or punctuation. If i can think of a better way to elucidate a sentence i will attempt to rewrite it. If i feel the edit will make the flow of the article better, or more factual, i will submit the edit.

Pinckney article edits

[edit]

I saw sources that we are unable to verify that stated that the state senator was campaigning with Hilary the day that he was murdered. As much as I would like to find these sources, the message could be inflammatory, and therefore should be subjected to additional scrutiny and tests of veracity.
