Speedy deletion nomination of BioNTech[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on BioNTech, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stop icon This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, as you did at BioNTech, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. The next time you post persistent spam or copyright violations here, I will block you Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:17, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, first let me say that however reputable, large or important a company is, that doesn't give it a right to have an article here, text must comply with our rules. I saw that you have made other contributions, which is why I didn't block you as a possible undeclared paid editor, but writing about a company is fraught with difficulties, not least because many attempts are made by the companies themselves.

  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability. You tell us very little about the company itself. You say it has 1000 employees, but your source doesn't verify that, and you say nothing about turnover or profits. Your main text doesn't even say where it's based until near the end

It's not the worse I've seen, and I'd normally restore as a draft for improvement. We often restore deleted text on request, but for legal reasons we don't do so for copyright violations, which is a problem here.

OK, I've just run the tool again, and the copyright violation score on the last version is 71%, too high to restore as a draft Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:36, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
