Hello Angela:
Sorry to bother you, as I know you're very busy, but I've been pressured to leave you a little note. A while back, I wrote a "Church of Wikipedia" parody, and it has apparently caught on: Wikipedia:Catholic Church of Wikipedia. As the "WikiPope," I'm obliged to interrupt your day to inform you that you've been declared a saint, and are hereby awarded this Saint's Barnstar. Please feel free to join in with the joke if you find the time and would like to do so. Always know, in all sincerity, that we appreciate your efforts more than you can know. -- Essjay · Talk 07:20, August 18, 2005 (UTC)
Hello Angela,

Under exactly what authority does UninvitedCompany think he can unilaterally permanently ban users, and destroy their user pages, and protect their talk pages so that they can't respond? - [1]
It should be noted that the alleged images were listed at User:Evil Monkey/Nudity as well as being considered entirely appropriate for articles, having, as far as I can tell, already survived IFD, and have been on Wikipedia for over a month.
Note that an arbcom case has only just opened and has by no means come down with even remotely any penalty such as a ban. UninvitedCompany seems to think he has greater authority than ArbCom, and can completely act outside it.
Does UninvitedCompany has infinite power and permission to unilaterally with impunity?
Particularly when the user/victim in question has challanged a prior abuse of adminship by UninvitedCompany in an RfC, and has diametrically opposed political opinions?
This seems to be a case of right wing evangelical Christian admins thinking they have the right to dictate to everyone else.
It also seems in contempt of the arbitration committee's right to make the decision.

May I ask you to have a look at the Talk:Elvis Presley page? To my mind, my opponents User:Ted Wilkes and User:Wyss are violating the rule that there should be no personal attacks against other Wikipedia users on discussion pages. Ted Wilkes has even deleted my recent contribution to the talk page. See Talk:Elvis Presley, history. I have only summed up some facts and presented an additional source which proves that the claims by Dee Presley have been discussed by Elvis fan groups. Significantly, when I stated that I was moving on some days ago, my opponents had nothing else to do than immediately hurry to the Nick Adams, Natalie Wood and James Dean pages in order to delete all contributions I have written. I think this is not fair play. Here is my contribution which has been deleted by Ted Wilkes: [2] He has also deleted other relevant passages from the Talk:Elvis Presley page, for instance, the excerpts from the critical article by Professor Dr Wall. See [3] Could it be that Ted Wilkes is identical with JillandJack alias DW? Onefortyone 15:21, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
Angela, I want to thank you for offering to host the Homestar Runner Wiki on Wikicities. We've had several people over the last few months suggest that we move to Wikia or Wikicities. I especially appreciate your generosity in offering to make exceptions to your advertising policy. However, as long as we have members willing to donate, and as long as it's practical for us, we'd prefer to maintain our independence. We will keep you in mind if we feel in need of your services in the future. Thanks. — Joey Day (talk·edits) 05:35, August 21, 2005 (UTC)
As you already know, there is an ongoing poll here about the use of a Disclaimer stating that "Wikipedia has no official position concerning the use of the name Republic of Macedonia etc.". As in previous cases (most notably the Macedonians/Macedonian Slavs poll) this poll would be decided by grossly nationalistic voting.
The author of the poll told me this:
As a fellow Wikipedian, I can not be more than terrified by this statement. Not surprisingly, the "For the disclaimer" vote is 100% composed of ethnic Greek votes, and currently it is in the lead. It is in my deepest belief that Wikipedia should not mould under the pressure of nationalism (from neither side). That is precisely why I am abstaining of the poll, stating my reasons here.
Please, your possible avoidance of entering in the negotiations of Balkan issues like the plague is causing Balkan disputes to conform to nationalist narratives (logically, to the narrative of the biggest nationality), and this is something that is done in direct opposition to NPOV policy. It is mostly up to neutrals to decide on the issue, and it is only up to them to stop nationalism. So, please, participate in the discussion. --FlavrSavr 15:08, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
BTW, there is a clear case of sock puppetry in the poll. User:Odysseas is appearing under under nickname - Colossus, and he's not even trying to hide it. As far as I know, sock puppetry is a serious crime here on Wikipedia, especially when it comes to voting. Will some administrator please do something about this? --FlavrSavr 12:34, 22 August 2005 (UTC)
User:Odysseas and User:Colossus are not the same user (IP check done). I guess that this time I got carried away. I put my personal emotions, my personal dissapointment of the general apathy of the English Wiki administration (with issues concerning Macedonians), before actually investigating the matter. I should have cooled down a bit before doing that. Sorry guys. --FlavrSavr 01:23, 26 August 2005 (UTC)

Hi Angela!
Please see bug 3272, regarding a namespace with Hebrew spelling at he.wikisource.org, and confirm with Brion that this is OK.
I find it a little strange that confirmation is even needed, because "Wikisource" is spelled in different letters in different languages, just like "Wikipedia." At the language domain requests in Wikisource, the people requesting each language also requested how to spell the project's name in each language. Maybe it would be a good idea to simply confirm with Brion that they are all OK.Dovi 14:53, August 26, 2005 (UTC)

I looked at the web site in question [5] and thought it too garish and horribly unprofessional to possibly be an "official" fan site. If it still is, then by all means keep it. I meant to remove the link altogther; I see where the confusion may have come from. It was added and reformatted by two different but very similar IPs; when I rolled back, it only rolled back the recent IP's formatting but not the original link. I'll remove the link to achieve the rollback I originally intended, then we can work from there. --Golbez 07:26, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

Hello, Angela:
You may barely remember me. I wrote you probably once or twice a long time ago because of concerns over the lack of stability of the "wiki" concept -and a potential for underpaid editors to have lower contributions --I vaguely recall.
Anyhow, I'm seeking feedback (and support, if it's appropriate) for a Fac. Here, in the little box below, is a post I sent to Jimbo -and do know we've worked very hard on the article. (PS: When I say "Lakeland" below, Jimbo will understand, as he lives close to where I live --I live in Lakeland, Florida, U.S.A., about 60 - 70 miles from Terris Schiavo's parents, and, due to my court battles, they personally know me, and they think highly of me --I hope :-)
Mr. Jimbo,
You remember me: I'm the Lakeland wiki contributer who went to court for Terri and almost won -actually doing better than Jeb Bush: (we both lost, as you well know, and this should be an interesting topic, as you, like I, live nearby to where the Schiavo ordeal unfolded)
Anyhow, I hate to bother the top brass, but the Schiavo article is a Featured Article Candidate, and, while some of the critics have good points about image copyright concerns, most of the other criticisms are unfounded (e.g., length of article must be long to "do justice," etc.), I think the article is stable and very well-written.
Slightly over half of the "votes" are against it being a "Featured Article," but I've whipped the article in shape -with help from many other editors, including Mark (aka →Raul654), the Fac editor. Please honor our combined hard work & team-effort, and use your "god-like" powers, just once more, before you give them up. Thank you.--GordonWattsDotCom 10:13, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
Thank you for your time and concern.--GordonWattsDotCom 10:54, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
Angela, Jimbo suggested that I talk to you about about an ad-free wikicities site for refugees in Marshall. Some of them are still looking for people and others just need an outlet for their stories. I would transcribe everything, because most victims don't have internet access, but if you'd be willig to do that I'm sure I could find a computer donor. This could be a low cost way wikipedia could help Katrina victims, without distracting ourselves from our primary goal. Please get back to me as soon as possible. Thanks. -JCarriker 16:37, September 4, 2005 (UTC)
Angela, just thought I'd pop up with an idea, though I understand if it isn't feasible. Having spent some time recently browsing a few articles on subjects I wanted detailed information about, it seems to me at present that Wikipedia is ideal for looking up the collective knowledge of WP's users, but is somewhat limited in allowing the reader to actively tap into this knowledge. For this reason, I would like to suggest an Answers project. Although these exist in abundance on the internet, many charge for content and do not have the pool of knowledge that WP has at its disposal. Further, the anyone-can-edit nature of WP seems to be the most effective way of providing answers to questions a browser might have.
As it stands, a question on a particular subject that is not answered in the article could be added to the discussion page, but for articles that concern a somewhat more obscure subject matter, the talk pages are often blank or, I'd imagine, rarely viewed. The Answers project I had in mind would work in conjunction with Wikipedia by linking the questions asked to the Wikipedia article. Ideally, the answer to the question would then consist of an update to the WP article, thus improving the article that the average reader comes across.
The format I had in mind would enable readers to submit a question. Such questions would be collected in one place, but organised by, say, categories. So if a reader had a question about John Paul Jones, the Led Zeppelin bassist, a post to the discussion page of his article might not yield much, but if the question were to appear with other questions on rock music or rock musicians, it would surely reach a much wider audience (namely, all those who contribute to similar articles on Wikipedia).
Apologies if this idea isn't workable, or I haven't worded my suggestion very well, but I'd be keen to hear what you make of it. Collecting the sum of all knowledge, as WP aims to do, is made all the more valuable if it can actively fill gaps in knowledge, and it seems to me that Wikipedia is ideally placed to do just that. Thanks for reading! --High(Hopes) 19:24, 5 September 2005 (UTC)
I want to thank you for moving the Council for Excellence in Government page and reminding me to wikify it. It was surprising to me that the Council did not previously have a page, especially since all the living ex U.S. presidents are on its board. I'm glad I could add that to Wikipedia.

I'm fairly careful about disambiguation repair - with British, most usages do tend to be for either United Kingdom or Kingdom of Great Britain, although I've also pointed a few to British Empire, Great Britain, British English, Royal Navy, or Brythonic, as needed. I'm pretty sure that users are generally not intending to link to the disambiguation page, so I'm trying to at least get closer to their intent. -- BD2412 talk 16:10, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

Angela, I am beginning to doubt that new users understand the WP:3RR. A user, after spending a dozen reverts over the last two days as an anon IP, is telling me "I edited the article. My edit is the one being reverted." I've heard this before. It seems that new users think that if they are restoring their edit after it is removed then the 3RR rules don't apply to them. (Even if several users are reverting their edit and even after discussion begins on the talk page.) Do we need to spell out more what this covers?
Oh, and I am now your sockpuppet... :) - Tεxτurε 20:44, 12 September 2005 (UTC)
Dear Angela, I recently got aware that the use of noncommercial-only images is no longer tolerated at the en-wiki. Same for the de-wiki. So the question came up whether Jimbo's statement is of mandatory application to all wikis subject to the rules of the Wikimedia Foundation or whether local wikis may, if not allow then at least continue to tolerate the upload of noncommercial-only images? My concern is that at the lb-wiki, where I am a sysop, the most active image contributors, responsible for more than 50% of our images, publish all their images as noncommercial-only images. The result of an internal discussion was that none of them would ever accept to allow any commercial use of their work. Hence, a strict application of the ban of noncommercial-only images would lead not only to a fatal drop down of image contributions, but would force the lb-wikipedians to delete about 50% of their images. Is it possible to prevent this by adopting a less strict local policy? --Otets 17:37, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
I just had a look at our recent changes. The "prompt" deleting apparently has already begun. I saw even GFDL images being deleted. Btw, most of our images are about Luxembourg and these are very rare on the Commons, so the commons are certainly not an option. There goes the lb-wiki. Scaring. --Otets 23:01, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
I confirm that the most active image contributors of the lb-wiki are currently retrieving even their GFDL-images (on purpose, not by mistake). So losing 50% of our images in just one night reveals to have been an understatement. Intervene directly if you want, as my voice is currently not heard anyway by my sysop colleague. --Otets 23:51, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
Up to now, we lost already about 6.5% of all our images. About 57% of these deleted images were published under GFDL, but retrieved on purpose but its contributor/sysop. On small wikis one wrong word can have fatal consequences - please liaise directly with the relevant sysop, as tomorrow I will unfortunately not be available and I ignore whether our third sysop will be around. --Otets 00:32, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

Hi Angela,
I'm still new here. I tried to add a U.S. Congress public domain tag to the images on Senator Barbara Boxer's page, but I seem to have done something wrong, because now the images wouldn't appear on her page. Please check what I've done wrong and fix it! Thank you so much!

Hello Angela,
Thank you for responding. Severel times when I've edited Barbara Boxer's page I have seen a "conflict of editing" message, although there was no one else who saved any changes to the page at that time, and either part of the text that I had submitted did not appear, or the images did not appear. I thought this was because of the enforcement of a 30k limit on the page. Yesterday for example I viewed the page from 2 different computers, and the photos did not appear. Now I see that the photos do appear. I don't know what the problem was, but now I see that either there is no problem, or that the problem has been resolved. Thank you very much or reassuring me!
Peace

Hello again, I have (unilatterly) taken away the 'assembly' idea, as per my reasons at that edit summary and per Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Charter. I have left the admin general, as some leadership is good. Now, all you have to do is be a member to establish consensus, the whole assembly idea is gone. Hi. I had included this image in particular because it is most definitely in the public domain, and because it's an interesting tidbit, in the spirit of the random selection of interesting tidbits that introduce the article. I think a picture "wakes up" the page a little (the logo really doesn't do it) - after all, this is for Esquire, which is a glossy magazine which does put lots of pictures in its articles. Also, Wikipedia typically has pictures in its better articles. I think catchy subheaders would snap it up a bit as well. What do you think? -- BD2412 talk 02:18, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

When I got blocked, I didn't know what to do. Since I'm surfing over proxy, I couldn't reach IRC for help, it is early morning in Serbia, so all of users I could ask to help me were sleeping - the irritation from being blocked (for no reason) was combined with the grim fact that I can't do anything about it. So I've chosen you, because I knew that you are always ready to help, and I remembered Jimbo's words when he was in Belgrade: "Angela is the only person on Wikipedia that could break all of the Wikipedia rules and policies and get away with it, but Angela is the only contributor that wouldn't do it in a million years!" :)
And you dashed swiftly like a knight on a white horse, and broke the abominable chains of injustice ;) Thank you very much!!

I did it but then I could not have the rights to change the system messages ad the navigation bar etc. So, I am helpless. Could you please depute some gu.wikipedia sysops to do so? Of course, needless is to say that I would like to accept the responsibility but when voting rights requires 400 edits, sysops must be requiring more. I do not know how many edits and new addition by me are counted towards my qualification of nomination for sysop etc.
By the way, on gu.wikipedia too the main page lacks the daily photograph and other stuff like en.wikipedia, for your information.

Angela -
You need to look at Jack_Sarfatti. Let's just say that this is a case where some read-ends may need the attention of your foot. This is apparently a vanity page, but instead of removing it, people have updated it in an -uh- intetesting fashion, and an administrator has chosen to lock it in that state.
Let me put it to you this way: Jack may have "asked for it", but if Wikipedia is at all deserving of respect he should not get this kind of treatment. If I could, I would VfD the thing as a vanity page and unencyclopedic, but since it is locked I cannot post the VfD notice. --EMS | Talk 02:17, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
Angela,
After I took photos, released them under GFDL, and were used in an article, I posted the template that you said here, where it is written that "You should add a note to the effect that permission has been confirmed on the article's talk page (not in the article itself), but avoid disclosing unnecessary personal details such as email addresses or telephone numbers. You may wish to use the ((confirmation)) template for this purpose," but editors routinely complain that I'm promoting myself, like here, where one editor says: "the content of this article has been derived from all users who have contributed. why is GordonWatts called out specifically?"
I do not need to call attention to myself, but I do need to follow policy.
If editors don't like your template, how else can I add a note to the talk page, a note that will stay put and not be hidden in, for example, archives.
Thx.--GordonWatts 02:13, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
I'm very sorry to write this in your talk page for a different wiki, but sysop who named himself; Dbl2010 really confusing me. I'm a muslim so as you can see in Arabic wiki or English wiki I want to use Islamic Calender. And I prepared templates for this calender but this guy cancelled all of my work. Please help.
And thank you, --Erzurumlu İbrahim 14:36, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
You can see my template in this page: http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/20_Muharrem with a deletion sign.
Sorry for interferring in this Issue but I think Wikiprojects are established on the idea of Freedom for all to express what they want , the thing i fight for in arabic Wikis against who wanna say their opinions only , and since English Wiki's has also the islamic calendar , i think it is Erzulmu's right to put that calendar in any Wiki . other notice islamic calender is so important for the events in Islamic History , many events in that calendar couldn,t be determined except in the Islamic calendar --Unfinishedchaos 12:18, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
Hi. I'm not sure where to find the answer to my question, so I decided to ask you: is it possible to check who has a certain article on their watchlist(s)? Karol 17:05, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
Hi Angela - just a note to let you know I blanked MediaWiki:Sitenotice at ga. Nice of you to ask someone local instead of doing it yourself - how culturally sensitive! --Kwekubo 22:37, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
Hi again, Angela. Here I am asking you for a favour :). As you are probably not aware, one of the Administrators at Georgian Wikipedia passed away recently (as is mentioned in the Main Page in a notice the community intends to keep for 10 days). There were 4 administrators and now we are just 3. To be honest, Sopho and I (2 of the administrators) are not currently doing much work. Our main intention was to start the project and attract georgians into it as it indeed happen fortunately. That leaves us with one active administrator at Ka. As the number of users and edits is growing rapidly, I thought it would be wise to get another person for the job. At Zangala's talk page there is a small discussion/poll between us about this (in english) and the consensus seems to be that Zangala should be the next administrator. Zangala is a very active user and has been there nearly since the Georgian Wikipedia started flourishing. Therefore, I'd like to ask you to upgrade her account to administrator at Ka.
As we are talking about this, I'd like to mention the fact we have no stewards at Ka and we have to ask you all the time we need an upgrade. Maybe it's time to get someone for the job at Ka too. Not me (not that I'd mind) as I'm not there as often as I would like but maybe Island would be a better choice.
Once again, thanks a lot and take care, Malafaya 22:42, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
I have a vandalism detection bot and I feel it needs some color so I want to create a CVU logo. I am thinking of basing it on Image:CTU-Logo.png and instead of "United States of America" use "Wikipedia Foundation", instead of "Counter Terrosism Unit" use "Counter Vandalism Unit" and instead of the eagle use (which requires board permisson as you likely know). So what do you think? --Cool Cat Talk 02:01, 30 September 2005 (UTC)
Hi Angela, this is just to let you know as a matter of courtesy that I've blocked User:EKBK, an account you unblocked on August 24, after s/he appealed to you that s/he'd been blocked unfairly. [12] I've reblocked because this account is almost certainly a sock puppet (or, at best, a meat puppet) of User:Zephram Stark, who has been causing chaos on Talk:Terrorism for a number of weeks with lots of sockpuppet accounts and open proxies. More details can be found at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Zephram Stark, which has been signed by 17 editors, and WP:RfAr#Zephram_Stark. I emailed EKBK a couple of weeks ago to ask for any information that might help to put the sockpuppet allegations to rest, but I just got nonsensical replies, and today Zephram was blocked for 24 hours at 15:24 by user:Carbonite, and EKBK turned up at Talk:Terrorism at 17:53, after a week of not editing. I'd say that all the editors who've had dealings with Zephram and EKBK believe the accounts are either controlled by one person, or that EKBK is a friend of Zephram's who turns up when instructed to cause trouble. Let me know if you need more information and I'll put together some diffs for you. Cheers, SlimVirgin (talk) 20:04, 30 September 2005 (UTC)
Hi Angela .. How are you ? i have applied a request for giving the sysop Oxydo in AR_wikipedia a priveliges of Bureaucrat ... unfortuanately i have seen lately that the stward interface has been disabled untill some updating would be made . please i just wanna know when that updating and modifications will end ? thanks alot for your help always .--Unfinishedchaos 12:08, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
Angela, i have a question for you. I would like to present a few ideas to someone responsible around here, regarding the use of wikipedia as host of personal propaganda and delusion such as Dom Rosario Saxe Coburg Gotha Bragança. Or, if there is any policy regarding this kind of thing. I think this is very important for this project i love so much. Would you be the right person? I would not disturb you with this if i didnt feel it as important. Cheers, muriel@pt 11:29, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
Thx for reminding me of the mistake I made (GPL licence for my photos instead of GFDL), I edited them to GDFL. It is, however, a shame that there aren't many quality pictures of Bishkek and Kyrgizstan in general, when I was there I saw quite a number of tourists, they could really make some good pictures (my pictures are not the best, to say the least, though they are better than nothing) --Msoos 13:06, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
Hello, I'm sending this message out to all users listed as inactive at WP:MC. Some of you have been on leave for quite some time, and I'm hoping one or two of you may return to active (every active editor has a case assigned). I know some of you are busy with other wikimedia stuff, like Angela Anthere and Danny, and some of you are busy with academic stuff, like MacGyverMagic and ClockworkSoul. However I still want to leave this message in the hope of perhaps getting some more of you on hand. It's by no means mandatory though, so don't worry. -Acting Chair, Redwolf24 (talk) 01:59, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Oh, and as for Esperanza, everything seems to be sorted out, I've made Essjay the admin general, and we've been tinkering around having fun (like trading spaces, which isn't related to the main goal of esperanza, but people have been doing it anyway) For news I run a Spamlist of people for who to send news to (so I don't bug people who don't want to be). So feel free to join that list if you want news. Cheers, Redwolf24) 01:59, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
I'm again very sorry to disturb you Angela but annoyance is continuing. as I said before in Vandalism in Turkish Wikipedia by a sysop.
Green parts are added by User:Dbl2010 to explain from things from different side.
He said that forgot to be a muslim in Wikipedia:
yazar kimliğinden başka diğer kimliklerini evde bırakmanı diliyorum.
He retreated to delete my membership in my discussion page with that table:
80px|Warning sign |
And now he is deleting a page which is already in English Wikipedia:
http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adiyat_Suresi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Adiyat
By the way only 2 sysop is currently active in Turkish Wikipedia, I left a massage to a sysop who is already a sysop in Kurdish wiki, in this page but no reply. Maybe you can give me sysop permissions, I have already an application for this. And I don't think Dbl2010 is a right joice to be a bureaucrat. --Erzurumlu İbrahim 16:18, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
I'm not sure what the process for this is, but I'd like to shut down the InuYasha wikicity, which I started. I attempted - and failed - to get any sort of popular movement going, and it this point I just feel guilty for taking up server space. -Litefantastic 17:53, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

Dear Angela:
I am a newbie Wikipedian, so please forgive me if this message to you is out of place. If I am reading the page History correctly, you created a new Golden mean article that redirects to Golden ratio. Are you aware that there is already an article named Golden Mean (note the difference in capitalization)? The latter has been proposed for deletion, discussion of which began just 2 days ago at Articles for deletion/Golden Mean. The discussion there, and debate, centers around whether the old Golden Mean article (not your new redirect) should be merged with Golden ratio. The outside world uses the term golden mean in two very different senses, both of which go back to the Classical era:
Because of your creation of the new Golden mean redirect page, I wanted to call these issues to your attention, although you may already be aware of them. Further, as a courtesey, I wanted to let you know that I posted a new topic on Articles for deletion/Golden Mean, which I quote in full below. Again, I apologize if this lengthy post to your Talk page is out of order. I am trying to learn the ropes here. Finell 22:00, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
Now there is a new Golden mean article that is solely a redirect to Golden ratio in addition to the present Golden Mean article (note the difference in capitalization) being discussed here (which no one will find in a search now unless they capitalize Mean). Talk about a need for disambiguation! Angela, a Board of Trustees member, apparently created the new Golden mean redirect page. I will leave a note on her Talk page. Hi, Angela. At Ka, the project name/namespace is still the default name Wikipedia. I would like to change it to the georgian correspondant ვიკიპედია. As I read in m:MediaWiki localisation#Modifying_files, talking about changing the LangXX.php file, they say:
Don't include Wikimedia or Wikipedia-isms in the file, this includes: * Not hardcoding "Wikipedia" or its local spelling everywhere. These language files are used for every MediaWiki wiki, including all of our projects at Wikimedia and third-party users. Use Meta for the name and either the default 'Project:' or 'Meta' for the link namespace.
What exactly is use Meta for the matter? I searched all the MediaWiki messages but I found none to be the project name. Can you be so kind to tell me where I can change it?
Thanks and regards, Malafaya 09:44, 7 October 2005 (UTC) (talk@ka)

Hello Improv, Angela, and Anthere. I was just wondering... I haven't gotten a digest for about a week. Would it be alright if I were to become an admin on the mailing list, as I haven't see you three around lately :-/ Comments appreciated. Redwolf24 (talk) 23:17, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

Hi, Angela
I am Rami Tarawneh, a sysop at Arabic wikipedia, I applied for an account at Wikimedia Foundation's website four days ago. I don't know if I should call you or not about this matter.
Anyway, it is only a three hours ride from Bremen to Berlin, so if I don't hear a replay from you soon, I will just come in person. ;-)
You can contact me in my discussion page. --Tarawneh 04:05, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
Hello Angela. I am a recent arrival to wikipedia. I am a resident physician in internal medicine in Portland, Oregon. On stumbling upon wikipedia, I was impressed by its potential. I read your words on eventualism. It made me think about the potential of WP as a resource and as a motivator of postive social change. Recently, I have been hanging out in the Articles for Deletion section. The discussion going on at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chepstow Comprehensive School draws interesting connections with regards to your views on eventualism and WP's potential. I was wondering if you would be willing to offer an opinion. Thanks. Gaff 06:45, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

Hello Angela, since you're among the most respected wikipedians out there, I have a question for you. As of late, the Brazil entry has been going a number of modifications regarding it's poverty section. To summarize, that section provided a very NPOV analyses of the roots of poverty, so after a bit of discussion, we decided it would be best to remove the NPOV analyses, maintaining only the basic facts (which has happened, albeit due to the one sided actions of a user...). We where thinking of creating a new page were we could present different POV's analyses, explicitly stating that they are POV (after all, NPOV in such things is near impossible), so what do you think? Cheers, --Vertigo200 13:26, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
I've started a proposal page for a sister project called "Wikitour" that would lend itself directly to Wikipedia. Whereas Commons hosts individual images of places that have articles on Wikipedia, Wikitour would host "virtual tours" of these places, such as castles, museums, galleries, caverns, mountains, college campuses, typical mosques or churches, archaeological sites, etc.
The basic idea is as follows: a user submits numerous photos of a notable place, which are organized into pages/subpages to create a navigable environment similar to that in Myst, Riven, or graphical adventures; the navigation system would be on Wikitour, while the files themselves would be on Commons, with a link in the respective article on WP; Basically, any topic that has an article on Wikipedia has the possibility of its own entry in Wikitour. Users could also submit photos of an object from various sides/angles/distances, rather than a place.
Please leave your impressions/suggestions at Talk:Wikitour. Thanks. — Brian0918 20:13, October 21, 2005 (UTC)
Hi, I know you guys already gave me permission to use the wikimedia and wikipedia logos to be used on the CVU images. Several users appear to have concers if I actualy got the permission or not. It might be best for you to mention that I/We have permission to use the wikipedia/wikimedia logos on wikipedia.
Hope this makes some sense. --Cool Cat Talk 19:26, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

Hi Angela,
I hope you don't mind, but I updated the Commons logo on your user page. The *.png file was deleted today because it was redundant with the *.svg file. -- Psy guy (talk) 12:51, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
Since logos ara subject of these days, I also wanted to ask a question. Tr wikipedia is getting close to 10,000 article. And community wants to put this news into our Main Page. One guy propesed a picture, which is basically picture of "10,000" , but he used wikipedia logo as zeros. I know wikipedia logo is copyrighted but I was wondering if this type of usage in wikimedia sites is allowed or not. If not is there a way to get permission. Or any other suggestion. Thanks in advance --User:Dbl2010 17:03, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
Angela,
I've been thinking for a while about starting a Wikipedia:Bounty board, where people put up monetary bounties for articles to become featured, but where the money all goes to the Wikimedia Foundation if the conditions are met. I have a draft at User:Quadell/bounty.
It seems to me that the positives would be that it would encourage donations and encourage the creation of featured articles, and it would fill a gap - that people tend to look for a psychological "reward" when they've worked hard for Wikipedia. But my questions are: 1, Do you think there are any legal problems with this? 2, Do you think this goes against the Wiki philosophy? And 3, Do you see any other problems? (I'm asking several long-term and knowlegeable Wikipedian about this.)
Thanks for your input, – Quadell (talk) 17:54, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
