Request reason:

Caught by a web host block. This is my own private, static IP, not an open proxy. I have edited wikipedia from this IP for several years. 74.207.250.159 (talk) 18:27, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This IP address is blocked for being a web host. It is part of the linode.com set of servers and is indeed a webhost. It's also not your direct connection to the Internet. Yamla (talk) 18:57, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My direct internet access is through a mobile broadband connection with helpful, non-disableable "features" like all traffic being forced through a transparent proxy that does things like replacing all images with thumbnails, injecting javascript into pages (that, among other things, provides an option for you to click the thumbnail to load the full-size image - except their javascript breaks every page that also has any javascript associated with images, like switching which image is shown), recompressing (and breaking) video streams, and generally making the internet unusable. They even break non-web-browsing http, as anything that even slightly resembles html over http gets their javascript injected, breaking many things that uses xml or scrapes web pages for data. And their proxy is broken and doesn't handle range requests correctly, so you can't resume files. As such, I route all my traffic through my own VPN, bypassing this ISP stupidity. I have done this for many years, without any problems until now. It is not an open or public proxy in any way, and all contributions from this IP are mine alone. Checking my contributions shows I've been using this setup since 2013. As the purpose of this block seems to be to prevent the use of anonymous proxies and vandalism, while this IP is a static IP only used by myself for non-vandalism edits, clearly associated with me, demonstrated for several years, please unblock it so I can continue contributing to wikipedia. I was about to fix a typo in a number in an article (48 instead of 4.8) when I found I had been blocked... 74.207.250.159 (talk) 2:16 pm, Today (UTC−5)

Decline reason:

Linode ranges are blocked as they are discovered, and there is significant abuse from persons using Linode to hide their real IPs. If you wish to edit Wikipedia, you'll have to do it without Linode. Katietalk 19:35, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
