Spooky Buddies is a 2011 Disney direct-to-DVD family film that is part of the Disney Buddies franchise, a series often referred to as the Air Bud and Air Buddies franchise.[2][3][1] It is the sixth installment in the Air Buddies spin-off series, and the eleventh film in the overall Air Bud franchise. The movie is directed by Robert Vince and produced by Anna McRoberts, and it marks the sixth time Vince and McRoberts have collaborated on a film together.[4] The film will be released by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment on Blu-ray, DVD, and as a movie download on September 20, 2011.[2][4][1]
The Howlloween Hound and Warwick the Warlock are accidentally released into the town of Fernfield and have plans to destroy the world. The Buddies, consisting of the talking dogs B-Dawg, Budderball, Buddha, Mudbud, and Rosebud, must travel to the mysterious old mansion called Spooky Manor to stop the Howlloween Hound and Warwick the Warlock. Through the adventure, the Buddies join forces with some new friends named Pip, Zelda, Rodney, and Skip, and together they stop the bad guys and save the world.[2][1][5]
The direct-to-DVD film will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, and as a movie download on September 20, 2011.[2][1][6] The physical release will be produced in two different packages: a 2-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and a 1-disc DVD.[2] The movie download will be produced in both standard and high definition.[citation needed] All versions of the release will include an interview by Leo Howard of Disney Channel's Leo Little's Big Show with the character "Rosebud" and a music video for the song "Monster Mash."[7]
