Intisar al-Hammadi or Entisar al-Hammadi (Arabic: انتصار الحمادي; born approx. 2001) is a Yemeni model and TV artist. Al-Hammadi was on trial in Houthi-controlled area with accusation of drug possession and "indecent act" in June 2021, when her lawyer was restricted to represent her case and Human Rights Watch called the trial unfair.[1]
Intisar al-Hammadi was born in family of her mother from Ethiopia and father from Yemen.[2]
She made her career of model in Yemeni fashion business, her photographs were sometimes without headscarf. Intisar al-Hammadi also appeared in Yemeni soap opera.[2]
Her business helped her care about her blind father and ill brother.[3]
Intisar al-Hammadi was arrested in February 2021 in the Yemeni Capital of Sanaa under accusation of indecent act and drug possession.[2] She was on trial in June 2021 in a Sanaa court. On June 30, 2021, Human Rights Watch called authorities in the Sanaa to free Intisar al-Hammadi.[3] She attempted suicide in prison and on June 28, 2021 transferred in a Sanaa prison hospital for treatment.
