Pre-season

[edit]

Adelaide played one practice match and one AAMI Community Series match during the pre-season. The practice match was played against the Brisbane Lions at Metricon Stadium on February 25. Adelaide lost the match by 89 points, but new draft pick Josh Rachele impressed by kicking 3 of Adelaide's 7 goals.[12] The AAMI Community Series match was played against cross-town rivals Port Adelaide on March 5. Rachele again impressed with another 3 goals, but Adelaide again lost the match. The Crows also suffered an injury to Rory Laird, who left the field in the third quarter with a suspected broken hand. The injury required X-rays and put him in doubt to play the first game of the season proper.[13]
