The granting of admin rights is a display of trust from the Wikipedia community, and keeping sysop privileges should be contingent to the editor's later behavior. I believe removal of administrator access, when necessary, should be a simple process, and one as painless and expeditious as possible; I have therefore been a member of Category:Wikipedia administrators open to recall since the successful closing of my RfA.
The following is intended as a straightforward guide to the process I wish to be followed if a reconfirmation of my adminship status is ever necessary.
Any editor in good standing by my definition[1] may request that I stand for reconfirmation. I respectfully ask that, if any user feels this is necessary, a detailed rationale of what they find objectionable in my behavior and/or any specific actions they find unacceptable be provided.
Immediately after acknowledging a message requesting that I stand for reconfirmation, I will analyze the rationale provided. In the unlikely event I find the behavior or action mentioned to have been indeed unbecoming of an administrator or blatantly inappropriate, I will immediately request removal of my sysop privileges and waive the remainder of the recall process. Otherwise, I will:
Should the outcome of the process involve removal of my sysop privileges, I will pursue another Request for adminship no sooner than thirty (30) days after removal of access. I will not ask any user to renominate me, although I may accept if someone offers. I will not withdraw this nomination.
These provisions will remain valid even if CAT:AOR is deleted; renamed; or superseded by any process, unless I find its replacement to be more efficient or streamlined than this "guide".
