"TQM" (abbreviation of "Te Quiero Mucho"; English: "I Love You So Much") is a song by regional Mexican band Fuerza Regida. Released on May 19, 2023 via Rancho Humilde and Street Mob Records, it was written by Brandon Daniel Candia Nuñez, Jesus Ortíz Paz, and Miguel Armenta. The song became the twenty-second regional Mexican song to enter the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 35.[1]

Background and promotion

In April 2023, lead singer Jesus Ortíz Paz shared a snippet of the song's chorus on the social media platform TikTok, which went viral soon after.[2] Paz later shared a telephone number which, when called, would play a longer snippet of the song.[3] After about a month of promotion on social media, the song was later officially released as a single on May 19, 2023, gaining about 13 million total streams in the first week after its release.

Reception

The song received mainly positive reviews upon release. Fransisco Inzunza of El Debate described the song's lyrics as "showing the vibrant and passionate essence of Fuerza Regida, talking of personal experiences and lived emotions".[2] El Imparcial stated the song "consolidates the power of banda music and the connection with its fans".[4] In a commentary by Vulture on regional Mexican music, Anamaria Synare stated while describing the song, "we’ve talked about vocals a lot, and that is relevant here: Almost every Mexican mix, I would say, goes super-upfront on the vocals. It’s just a thing everyone does. It’s how Mexicans like to listen to their music".[5]

Music video

The official music video for "TQM" was released on May 19, 2023, coinciding with the song's release. The video was filmed in Los Angeles, California, and features former American pornographic actress Lana Rhoades.[6][4] Upon release, the video gained six million views on YouTube and reached number four on the website's music charts.[7]
