This script is used to easily alert users about contentious topics. It uses the ((Alert)) and ((Alert/first)) templates.

Hint: It's much easier if you get ScriptInstaller, then navigate to User:CanonNi/Scripts/AlertAssistant.js and click "Install" at the top.

However, here's the manual method:

1. Place ((subst:iusc|User:CanonNi/Scripts/AlertAssistant.js)) on Special:MyPage/common.js or a skin-specific page, like Special:MyPage/vector.js.
2. Clear your cache and enjoy!

Note that the script will only load in the User talk: namespace.

To use the script:

1. Click "CT Alert" in the Tools section on the right of your screen (Vector)
2. Choose whether to use ((Alert/first)) (first) or ((Alert)) (regular)
3. Select the topic in the dropdown menu
4. Click "submit query"
