In contrast, neither King Charles III (film) nor King Charles III (play) are mentioned in this template, even though the depiction of the Prince of Wales in both is an "explicit" one. Moreover, his portrayal in the film adaptation of King Charles III have been the subject of critics' opinion in multiple publications (e.g. this piece from The Guardian and this one from Vulture). The same cannot be said for the Prince of Wales's "depiction" in "Freemium Isn't Free", as I have been unable to find any similar pieces as of this post.
I would like for these inclusion criteria to be explicitly defined in this section, not only because it will allow for the scope of the draft article mentioned above to be better defined by editors, but more importantly, so that Wikipedia readers will have an as accurate as possible understanding of the Prince of Wales's cultural impact.
P.S. I also would like to know the rationale behind The Queen and her biological children not being mentioned in the Prince of Wales's navigation template. However, for now, I would like the discussion to focus on my concerns regarding his media depictions.
I don't think the scope of the draft can be based on the scope of this template. After all, a template needs to be more succinct or narrowly constructed compared to an article. Which is why for example neither King Charles III (film) nor King Charles III (play) are listed here. In both of them the central character is Charles. I wouldn't be opposed to including those two here or in Camilla, Harry, or Catherine's templates if their characters did indeed form a large part of the story.
This might also sound a little bit off topic but I wonder whether the draft will be covering William's appearances in documentaries or it will solely focus on fictional portrayals, because if it's the latter "Cultural depictions of William, Prince of Wales" could be a more appropriate title (see Category:Cultural depictions of British monarchs for similar examples).
I don' think Camilla's children play any roles in either William or Harry's lives. They have rarely been seen together. As for Camilla, yes she's technically their stepmother but there is again no evidence that they view Camilla as a stepparent or motherly figure (who usually is a figure that actually raises a person in the absence of one's parent). She's simply their father's wife and that's what has been reported by biographers to be the nature of the relationship. Keivan.fTalk06:28, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
