This is a documentation subpage for Template:Welcome-suboptimal. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template should always be substituted (i.e., use ((subst:Welcome-suboptimal))). Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot.

This template is similar to Template:Welcome-unconstructive, in that it's there to welcome users whose (non-vandalism) edits have been reverted. However, this template is oriented towards contributions that were clearly intended to be constructive, but were removed.

Examples:

1. A user adds information to an article, but the same information is already present (in different wording) elsewhere in the article.
2. A user makes a contribution that violates policy or convention in a minor way, and is clearly just a flawed attempt to improve the article.

To use this template, add ((subst:Welcome-suboptimal)) to the user's talk page.

Parameters:

• The relevant page: ((subst:Welcome-suboptimal|Article)) identifies the article where the suboptimal contribution occurred.
• Your user name: ((subst:Welcome-suboptimal|Article|Username)) adds a link to your talk page in the welcome message.
• If notitle is set, for example notitle=yes, then the "Welcome" title is not displayed.
