A cartoon from 1814 depicting the exile of
Napoleon Bonaparte to the island of
Elba. After his defeat in the
War of the Sixth Coalition, he arrived in Elba on 3 May 1814, where he had sovereignty over the island. Napoleon stayed for 300 days, after which he escaped and regained power for the period known as the
Hundred Days.
