Improved to Good Article status by DatGuy (talk). Self-nominated at 10:45, 25 July 2018 (UTC).

Interesting life, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. - The image is licensed and a good illustration. I am not sure if the first hook matches the article, and think the second lets us think for moment that he was guilty. How about just saying that he was a national hero by ..., or that a stadion is named for him? - Article suggestions: write a lead that is a summary, amd move the water selling detail to the body ;) - Write a caption in the infobox, like the one here? The refs could be in numerical order. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:39, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
Added alt two, might need a bit of rewording. What do you mean by "The refs could be in numerical order"? Also, do you believe I should make a new (short) section for his early life? The water selling stuff doesn't seem to fit well anywhere else. Dat GuyTalkContribs 09:46, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
I think they mean instead of having, say ref 20 and ref 3 (like this: [20][3]), have ref 3 and then ref 20. RileyBugz私に叫ぼう私の編集 15:17, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
ALT2, with thanks. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:08, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

Unfortunately, it has been over a month since this was pulled from prep, and the copyvio and lede issues have not been addressed. In addition, the nominator hasn't edited in over a week. Unless he returns to editing soon or another editor adopts this nomination, it is unlikely the issues can be addressed in a timely manner. As such, I regretfully mark this nomination for closure. I think it would be a shame but have no time to work on it. Could projects for sports, Olympics, Greece be consulted? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:52, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: Definitely, informing the respective WikiProjects would be a good idea. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:54, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: I volunteer to take over this nomination. So to summarize: the lead needs to be adjusted and the olympic.org source information cited needs to be rewritten. Should I check the other sources as well? Please note: i'm not in any sports wikiprojects but i write sports articles :) EDIT: Earwig says this website has a 91% violation. Like the above olympics.org one: i'm confused as to who copied who. I'm dealing with the lead first. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 00:31, 28 September 2018 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: Okay. I believe the lead is dealt with. Now the question is before after I deal with the olympics.org source is with the above marathonrunmuseum website I linked above. This website is not used in the article though. Any thoughts? --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 00:50, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

@Gerda Arendt, RileyBugz, Diannaa, and BlueMoonset: Have the article issues been addressed? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 15:19, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

I fixed another copyvio issue that wasn't part of the above concerns as there was a word for word copy from Reuters. I'll look for more issues but I wouldn't mind if a reviewer checks the entire article as well in case I miss something. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 17:51, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
The issue I was summoned to look at in August has been addressed. I am not seeing any other copyright issues. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:20, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
Also, do I require a QPQ since I took over this nomination? I have one available but this is the first time I've taken over a nom before. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 18:00, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
Not for me ;) - You fixed a big problem, just thank you! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:33, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
yes but why ask me who didn't see the problems to start with? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:09, 8 October 2018 (UTC)
I was asking you since you were the original reviewer and I was just checking if this was ready for the tick. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:13, 8 October 2018 (UTC)
