  • Check the DYK rules. Yes, the picture has to be in the article, and cannot be fair use. Articles also need to be five fold expansion. --LauraHale (talk) 22:20, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Yeah I know they have to be 5x expansion, but I didn't know how far off I was or if I had cleared it. Aaron You Da One 22:21, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Why are you nominating articles that you are unsure are eligible? This raises red flags regarding articles you are doing QPQ on as you are supposed to be checking for article newness and expansion. The occasional accident is okay as it happens to the best of us but this wasn't that close. It was 250 words off. :( --LauraHale (talk) 22:49, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Because I don't know how to use that checker you suggested, I've even said I don't know but you haven't even explained it to me. Well with this article I think I've done a pretty good damn good to expand it 4.75x considering there isn't exactly much information on it anyway. Aaron You Da One 11:40, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
  • To be more exact, the expansion is based on the number of prose characters. Prior to expansion, there were 1762 prose characters, requiring a new total of 8810. The article is currently at 7418, so 1392 additional characters (including spaces) is required for eligibility. You've done a good job in expanding it, but sometimes articles are just too big before you start to make a 5x expansion feasible. (I don't know whether that's the case here.) And, of course, the absolute minimum size for the finished article is 1500 characters no matter how small it was prior to expansion.
See the DYK reviewing guide for further details on reviewing and the needed checks; useful tools referred to there include DYKcheck, which checks on expansion and whether articles are stubs or have previously appeared on DYK, and Duplication Detector, which can help detect plagiarism or overly close paraphrasing. (Links to both tools are at the bottom of that page.) There are other tools that check the 5x expansion and size in characters; pointers to them can be found on the rules and supplementary rules pages, both of which you should be familiar with if you're reviewing nominations. You said I needed 8810 characters, the article is now 8834. The picture is also in the article. Aaron You Da One 13:04, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
