Template:DL character Tanin Majere is the eldest son of Caramon Majere and Tika Waylan in the fictional series of Dragonlance novels. Tanin had red hair and green eyes like his mother. He was tall and had a broad stature like his father. He was named after Tanis Half-Elven. Tanin was an honorable man, ready to attack to defend his honor and that of his family's.

Tanin, and his brother Sturm Majere as well, had long dreamed of being a Knight of Solamnia. Sturm and Tanin eventually received an invitation to become Knights, and so they went to Solamnia and were inducted as the first non-Solamnics to be Knights of Solamnia.

Tanin was on patrol with Sturm and others and they spotted boats approaching. They stayed on shore and awaited them. Tanin and Sturm died in the ensuing battle against the Knights of Takhisis, who were joined by Tarmaks. Steel Brightblade, a first cousin to Tanin and Sturm but unknown to them in life, journeyed with their brother Palin Majere back to Solace, where the brothers were buried. Steel placed Tanin's sword on his body before Tanin was buried.
