xx symbol also represents peace or safe —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.23.48.99 (talk) 01:59, 3 June 2009 (UTC) I think it could also mean death kind of the cartoon connotation of death. They put XX's on the eyes to mean death or knocked out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.24.176.220 (talk) 01:46, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi, I don't want to edit war with you, so I hope we can have a productive conversation. Your recent edit summary is correct in that "XX" and "female" do not entirely encompass each other. However, I think disambiguation pages should be as complete and accurate as possible, and as such I have listed several different cases of XX in the context of genetics. One of these is Female, an article which in its lede states, "Most female mammals, including female humans, have two X chromosomes." As search terms, to me it just makes sense for XX and XY to have blue links to Female and Male respectively to comprehensively reflect genetics and biology, alongside some of the rarer genetic disorders that I have taken the liberty of compiling (along with other disambig. pages I updated at X0, XO, XXX, ZO, ZW, and ZZ).

Most female mammals, including female humans, have two X chromosomes. This is in the lede of the article. It would be helpful to list this as this is the designation for the typical female organism under both the XY and XO sex-determination systems. Essentially, this dab page should list the two systems, and then the corresponding articles describing the biological instances that the code "XX" is represented: female, de la Chapelle syndrome, gonadal dysgenesis. This is about aiding the user who searches for "XX". For both this and your reversion on X (disambiguation), could you kindly point me towards the specific point you are referencing at WP:DABNOT/MOS:DAB? TNstingray (talk) 19:47, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
Include articles only if the term being disambiguated is actually described in the target article. In this case, it is not, so your addition is not valid. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:31, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
females have XX (as opposed to XY in males) sex chromosomes. The term "Female" has many nuances, but one common meaning is "having XX chromosomes", especially as that article is specifically about biological sex rather than gender identity. Certes (talk) 21:46, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
