A Google search on this returns references to something completely different. Anyway, should one look for references that it "is reputed" (which wouldn't be so hard) or references concerning the actual consequences of drinking Cam water? —Ashley Y 01:25, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Recommend deletion of the Runescape reference - I realise this is a trivia section, but it's an exceptionally trivial piece of trivia, especially given that the construction (rivername)-bridge is so common in place names. I've not been able to find any confirmation that the place names are related, although I'm aware that Jagex, the company that produces Runescape, is based in Cambridge (perhaps someone who plays the game might be able to help clarify). It should be made clear that the Cam described here is only one of several with this name in England. For example there are two in Somerset. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Adresia (talk • contribs) 09:49, 9 May 2007 (UTC).
I have a kinda dispute with this. I am maybe in a minority but have always seen the poem (and know most of the places mentioned in it) as kinda a parody, saying how awful Cambridge is-- i.e. by saying how awful everywhere is but how wonderful Grantchester is. I don't think it is supposed to be a rural idyll. It's a great poem but I think most people miss the point. Any opinions?

Tidy Up (source of River Rhee) The reference to River Rhee starting to the west of the village is incorrect, the Spring is located in the village itself. Will upload some photos in due course. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=526990&Y=239770&A=Y&Z=115 Pandaplodder (talk) 11:59, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Some research on the name of the Cam river in pre-Roman times would be worthwhile. Many place-names throughout Britain are Celtic in origin, such as "Avon" (abhainn=river). "Cam" means crooked or a bend which would seem plausible, or "Com" meaning a valley or a glen. 84.203.171.122 (talk) 11:40, 27 August 2011 (UTC) F MacAmhlaoibh inne@eicom.net
Seems highly dubious that both the Granta and Rhee are officially the upper stretch of the river. Surely it's one, the other, or neither and both are part of the Cam system. — LlywelynII 02:06, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
In adding the river geobox, it automatically added the mouth coordinate as the page title coordinate. This clashed with the one marked in the 'map table' (outside Clare College), so I turned that one off. I agree as a single point, this central Cambridge one is more useful, though it goes against the convention of the vast majority of other river pages whose title coordinate is the location of the river mouth. Beyond this I have no strong opinion...Smb1001 (talk) 17:50, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
