Is the information about oil power plants still up to date? Some sources don't mention them. --Nemo 15:43, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
Greetings Wikipedians! In my humble opinion, the titles of the sub-sections are not neutral, using language that would be more at home in an advertisement or a speech: "Fighting hydropower", "Fighting rooftop solar panels", "Electoral fraud" (particularly egregious) and "Environmental harm." I'm not saying they're wrong, but they don't meet the test of avoiding advocacy. Wikipedia articles are supposed to be written from a neutral point of view , one of our fundamental principles (see Five Pillars). I'm going re-phrase these titles to make them more neutral. I'm not employed by NextEra, although I did work there long ago. Cordially, BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 17:03, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi Wikipedia, I'm Matt and I work for NextEra Energy. I'm hoping to do a pretty big overhaul of the article (I made a draft and a diff for an easy comparison) but I know I can't make those changes myself due to my COI. I'll make requests here on the Talk page.
To kick things off, I was hoping to make some updates to the article's infobox. Those changes include:
The full infobox is in the box below.

Hi editors, while my infobox update request is being considered, I thought I'd also make two small requests of the article body.
I request that we change the Corporate history heading to simply History as the latter seems to me to be more concise.
I also request that we change the first sentence of History from:

Hi editors, for my next request I propose to expand the History section with some more information to flesh out the section.
First, I propose moving the sentence starting with "FPL Group changed its name" to new paragraph.
Second, I propose adding the content below after the sentence ending with "FPL Group in 1984":
References
This helps flesh out the section more with information from the early years of FPL group using reliable sources. Please let me know what you think! If editors are interested, I made a draft and a diff showing what I hope to achieve with this article. Thanks in advance for reviewing. NextEraMatt (talk) 18:08, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi editors, for my next request I'll stay in the History section with an eye for further expansion.
My next request is to add the following in a new paragraph after the sentence ending "March 1999":

Functionally what this does is summarize some of the sentences in the Mergers and acquisitions section and move that content to History. Please let me know what you think. NextEraMatt (talk) 17:34, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Hi editors, with the last change made by Encoded, there's some content in the Mergers and acquisitions section that is now redundant, as it has been summarized in the Corporate history section.
Because of that, I propose removing the first, second, third, and fifth paragraphs of the Mergers section. Please let me know what you think. NextEraMatt (talk) 14:24, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

Hi editors, for my next request, I propose adding the following sentences immediately after the sentence ending "and Constellation Energy".

Hi editors, continuing with my requests for the History section, I propose revising the current second-to-last sentence in the section related to the company's name change, which at present is unsourced. I propose changing it to the following and adding some additional information about where it was operating at the time, something like this:
Immediately after that sentence, I also propose adding the following sentences, which slightly rework the sentence in the Politics section and the first sentence of the Litigation section, rendering both redundant.
All together, it looks like this:

The following year, FPL Group rebranded as NextEra Energy. At the time, it provided power in 28 states and Canada.[1] NextEra Energy subsidiary New Hampshire Transmission (NHT) reached a $6.8 million settlement with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in 2016 after charging customers for the development of an electric power transmission project that was not approved.[5][6] During the 2016 Republican Party presidential primaries, NextEra Energy donated $1 million to a super PAC supporting Jeb Bush's candidacy.[4] References

I think this rework more accurately reflects the information available in reliable sources and removes an unnecessary subhead that is only there for a single sentence.

Hi editors, I noticed that the article has a sourcing error and one of the sentences is out of place chronologically in the History section. I propose moving the second-to-last sentence in History to the end of the fourth paragraph and modifying the reference name to "PBP12", which should fix the issue.
All together, it would look like this:

Hi editors, following up on my previous request with a fresh one here. This is a two-parter:
Part 1: I request to remove the final three sentences of the Corporate history section. The sentences "The following year, FPL Group rebranded as NextEra Energy. At the time, it provided power in 28 states and Canada." are redundant (already in the section two paragraphs earlier). The sentence "Nextera Energy is incorporated in Florida." doesn't really fit in the History section, though I acknowledge that it is not explicitly stated elsewhere in the article where the company is incorporated. I will propose creating a Company overview section in the future that should make it more clear where the company is headquartered.
Part 2: I request to add the following sentence immediately after Through the early 2000s, FPL Group was the subject of multiple merger discussions, including with Iberdrola, Entergy, and Constellation Energy:
