I am proposing that this page be moved to Mull (disambiguation), currently a redirect to "Mull" so that the inaccurately named "Isle of Mull" can be moved here instead as it would appear to have primacy. BenMacDui 08:40, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: page moved. Can someone cleanup the inbound redirects to make sure that they point to the correct article? Vegaswikian (talk) 19:44, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Mull → Mull (disambiguation) — The primary usage of "Mull" is the island Isle of Mull. I suggest a redirect from Mull to Isle of Mull and a ((redirect)) hatnote there referring readers to the dab page for other uses of "Mull". This move has been informally proposed previously, and is discussed at Talk:Isle_of_Mull#Rename although the main issue there is whether the island's article should be at Mull or Isle of Mull. In either case, I suggest that the dab page should be at Mull (disambiguation). PamD (talk) 19:08, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support Fine by me. BenMacDui 19:32, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support as the island is the primary meaning of Mull by itself. I would title the article on the island Mull, for simplicity; compare Skye. SeptentrionalisPMAnderson 00:42, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. "Mull" or "mull" has other meanings, and the island may not be so major a meaning to readers who have no connection with Scotland. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:36, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: the list of incoming links seems to me to support my suggestion that the Island is the primary usage of "Mull". PamD (talk) 15:24, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Mulled wine is under that title - we avoid direct forms of verbs, preferring participles. Mull as "consider" belongs on Wiktionary, not here.
The other items of Gaelic geography are rarely called simply Mull, but Mull of Kintyre and so forth.
The people with the surname Mull are disambiguated by their first names, as usual.
Support per nom. Cjc13 (talk) 15:05, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support and we should move "Isle of Mull" to "Mull". Most other Scottish islands do not have "Isle of" in front, see e.g. Skye. PatGallacher (talk) 17:39, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support as proposed. Finavon (talk) 21:12, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Would the closing admin mind doing this? It would only have to be redone if added now. SeptentrionalisPMAnderson 04:16, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As reminded by the closing admin, I've just checked all links incoming to Mull and changed the two which were not intended for the island. (From Mull of Galloway to the geog term and from Mul to the dab page, for the curious). PamD (talk) 22:54, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Mull which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 18:45, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
