Tagged with ((contradict)) because the first sentence describes the products as "rendered," but the quoted definition says "non-rendered." 69.140.164.142 04:13, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed contacting statement (word "rendered" in definition of meat by-product) as well as contradiction tag after reviewing an explanation found at http://www.homevet.com/petcare/foodbook.html. Amerikanaz 19:23, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please include a section about the controversy around by-products[edit]

I'm a dog owner who feeds dog food with meat by-products to my pet but I hear a lot of criticism and derision of meat by-products by other pet owners and in ads by some high-end pet food companies. It would be helpful to have a section on this criticism and the counter-response of the pet food industry or veterinarians who think by-products are healthy. I think a lot of pet owners, like me, would appreciate a balanced, factual section on this issue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Calan (talkcontribs) 13:57, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
