Famous alumni[edit]

Edited and removed no source/no page/alumni

removed unnecessary embellishment, request sources for alumni, page seems prone to embellishment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ksquarekumar (talkcontribs) 00:11, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Someone please add and cite from the links in the list above. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ksquarekumar (talkcontribs) 00:32, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Famous alumni[edit]

Fazlur_Khan, the designer of Sears Tower, the tallest building in the world between 1974-1999, was an alumnus of this college. --Ragib 19:33, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

page move[edit]

I moved the page to remove the & in the title (the official title on the school's website includes an and) and to insert a space between University, and Shibpur. Esrever 20:49, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alumni[edit]

Per WP:NLIST any member in a list of people must be notable and a source must be given for each member. I moved here all the members which have no page, hence no notability is shown. I tagged the rest requesting sources for their alumnus status.

Removing image gallery[edit]

Wikipedia policy discourages galleries of images connected to the article subject, unless they are specifically commented on in the article, or help illustrate and illuminate some aspect of the article. Images should not be decorative. (See Wikipedia:Image use policy.) As such, I'm moving the image gallery here. Please add back images selectively, only if they are useful for illustration purposes. name change[edit]

I think moving the page was done slightly prematurely. On all the sources I can find it still says "to be renamed....", meaning the name change has not occurred yet. Of course I am not a local, so I can't say for sure, but that's what the sources say. I am reverting the name back, until a reliable source is found that the name change actually occurred officially.--Muhandes (talk) 16:45, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'Missing title' errors[edit]

This article contains many references using ((cite web)) with no title parameter. This is considered an error as described here. Each occurrence produces a CS1 error message, which you can see only if you have CS1 errors enabled, and the errors include the article in multiple error tracking categories, which you can see only if you have "show hidden categories" enabled. ‑‑Mandruss (talk) 22:20, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding notable alumni[edit]

Some editors keep adding unreferenced, non-notable people to the list of notable alumni. I think as a general rule of thumb, someone who doesn't have a WP article about them should not be listed there. Tetrahedron17 (talk) 17:30, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
