@Another Believer: Ōtani Sobyo (meaning Ōtani Mausoleum) is also called Higashi-Ōtani. They are the same.--そらみみ (talk) 00:33, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
そらみみ, Thanks, do you have a sense of which page title is more appropriate for English Wikipedia? ---Another Believer(Talk) 00:48, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think "Higashi Otani" is OK, because there is another mausoleum called "Otani-hombyo" (also called "Nishi-Otani"), they are a pair. For this mausoleum, "Otani Sobyo" is the formal name, but "Higashi-Otani" is also widely used.--そらみみ (talk) 00:53, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
そらみみ, Thanks again. If you can think of any ways to improve the article, or helpful sources (in English or Japanese), feel free to share. Either way, your feedback here is much appreciated! ---Another Believer(Talk) 01:15, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Ytoyoda: Pinging you as well, since you've been helping to categorize images at Wikimedia Commons. Happy editing! ---Another Believer(Talk) 15:30, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer: I'm not that knowledgeable on the topic, so I'd say go with WP:COMMONNAME, but I don't think there's an established English name. I see "Otani Sobyo", "Otani Mausoleum" and "Otani Sobyo Mausoleum" all used, but there isn't one that's used more than others. The official website uses "Ōtani Mausoleum" and it meets the "use English" guideline, but I find that too easy to confuse with Ōtani Hombyō, which is also a mausoleum of the Otani-ha in Kyoto.
If I had to recommend one name, it'd be Ōtani Sobyō, but like I said, I'm not an expert so don't take my opinion as the final word. Ytoyoda (talk) 16:59, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
