Is Fairuza's father, Solomon Feldthouse, really Roma or Persian? He was born in Pingry, Idaho--not exactly a diverse place--and supposedly moved to Turkey as a child. He was an early pioneer in world music, but I have seen no evidence that he was anything other than white bread. Can anyone corroborate his supposed ancestry?

I'm not sure she should be included on this list because I heard on the IMDb boards that she sold her store a long time ago and also because it's not exactly well-known that she practices magick.
In fact, the only way I heard about it was by reading the webpage written by the Witch who consulted on The Craft.
Just a thought, though.
Lol, consulting a make believe witch.. how stupid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.236.57.130 (talk) 15:23, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

I dropped the cleanup template on the page. There are instances of subjective point of view, incomplete sentences, double bullets, an instance of a "list" consisting of a single bullet point, and minor style problems. Also, several of the items in the Trivia section are hopelessly vague and require expansion. I don't have time to cleanup the article tonight and I know very little about the actress, so I left the banner in the hopes that someone else can take it on. Canonblack 23:56, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Fairuza Balk is of Gypsy(Roma) ancestry — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.244.87.96 (talk) 05:28, 2006 February 14 (UTC)
More than happy to believe this but can we have some sourcing please? 193.129.65.37 04:28, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Her name means "turquoise (the gemstone)" in Persian, Arabic and Turkish. So its not just an Arabic name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.156.84.233 (talk) 15:33, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
If it's the father..if he is or isn't..doesn't count. All Semite blood..Rom/gitano..Hebrew must come from the mom's side. that means she's just white. we also have a habit of using our mother's name as our lastname — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.153.29.143 (talk) 05:29, 2006 June 30 (UTC)

Ok Peeps, this is a problem i have. The triangle tattoo that Fairuza has on her left lower shoulder/upper arm is not green, but in fact blue. Now I've attempted to change this THREE times now, citing the problem and all, but it keeps saying it's green. So, YOU be the judge. Check out this pic of our beloved Ru, and see for yourself:

I'd say thats blue, don't you?
Peace out,
Tommy Pendragon. Tommy Pendragon 05:18, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
ok, I'm not TRYING to link it to some bus company, it's just that everytime I change it to the CORRECT color, it links it to something completely apart from the subject. But the truth of the matter is that tatto of hers is blue. I've seen numerous movies with her, and it ALWAYS shows up blue. And until someone finally changes the damn thing to say blue, and it stays that way, then I'll keep changing it. It's my duty as a huge Fairuza Balk fan to do so.

There, i figured out the problem.i shouldn't have had the brackets around it, making it a link. Now it's the correct color, but it doesn't hhave the link. I apologize for the error i made. - Tommy PendragonTommy Pendragon 02:34, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
I believe the tattoo is turquois (as in Fairuza). Free4all76 17:39, 18 December 2007 (UTC)free4all76 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Free4all76 (talk • contribs)

I changed the link to (film) from (movie) and added it to the list on the requested movie articles page. I only changed it from (movie) to (film) because I didn't realize that another link was created on this page before I added it to the requested and disimbugation pages. Fairuza is not a Muslim convert, is she? --121.218.215.16 (talk) 04:37, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Hello, My name is Fairuza Balk. My mother called me and told me to look myself up on Wikipedia and that there was a ton of misinformation on it and asked me to please have it corrected so I did. I tried to write in to Wikipedia and have had no response in regards to making these corrections. I tried to edit the page myself but it did not change for some reason and now I have found this discussion page. In an attempt to rectify some of these mistakes and to answer the questions you guys are going back and forth about, I'm writing this now. If there are any more questions I can be found on Facebook ,myspace and soon I will also be on Twitter.
- I have not converted to Islam.
- my Tattoo is blue which is the closest to turquoise that I could get it. It IS a tribute to my ancestry.
-My father is half Cherokee Indian and Half Roma gypsy. His Mother was Cherokee Indian and his father Roma. His Father died before he was born. His mother remarried and That is how he got his last name. This is what I know.Calling my father "whitebread" is not very nice. Please be respectful, this is my family you are talking about. I am not of Persian blood but I would be honored if I was. My name is a Persian and also Arabic name and means "Turquoise, Victory, Or precious one".
-My mother is Irish from Her father and French from her Mother. She has studied ,performed, and taught the ethnic and traditional dance forms of many countries, such as, Egypt, Turkey,Morocco,Spain and many more.
-I have no set religion, I have studied many religions and I take what I can learn from them all.
-I was not a set designer or contributor on "The Craft" I was paid to act. I studied with a Wonderfully sweet and Kind woman named Pat Devon who was hired on the film to be a source and reference for modern Wicca and Paganism. She helped me alot with my research for the role and was very good to all of us girls as we were new to the subject and wanted to do the best job we could.
-I was born in Point Reyes California. My mother and I lived in Cloverdale until i was 2 then we moved to Vancouver B.C. I started acting at the age of 6. My first film was called "The best Christmas pageant ever". A year or two later I landed the role in "Return To Oz" ,which took my mother and I to London where we continued to live until I did "Valmont" with Milos Forman. We moved To Paris for the film, remained there for 6 months then we moved back to Vancouver where I lived until i was 18 or 19.I traveled around for awhile and when i was signed to do "The Craft" I moved to Los Angeles.
-I cannot be contacted through "Panpipes Magickal marketplace" whatsoever.
Thank you for your interest in me and my life and work. I will continue to try and have the mistakes on the page rectified. For any further questions please refer to FB, Myspace, or Twitter. I will also be able to be reached soon at Fairuza.com which is now in my name. Thanks so much and I hope this helps answer some of the questions to set the record straight on a few things. The internet is a tricky place, anyone can say anything about you, change dates, change facts, misquote you e.t.c., but this is coming from me directly.Thank you.
Sincerely
Fairuza

The link to "Shadow of a Doubt" is to the wrong movie. The one linked to is the Alfred Hitchcock 1943 movie and not the 1995 TV movie of the same name that Fairuza Balk was in. The latter does not seem to have an entry in Wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.93.177.62 (talk) 19:29, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Via Fairuza's verified twitter account She confirmed that she Really is the Author of the entry on this talk page .. It can't get more official than that, So we should Edit her information into the article.
here I asked her about the entry : http://twitter.com/mandosalama/status/12495158914326528
And here is her confirmation : http://twitter.com/fairuza/status/12540672452071424

I have removed two categories which were not alluded to in any way in the article (and certainly not with a citable reference.) If there are any sources which describe her as a Wiccan or Neopagan these could of course go back. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 00:11, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
Should Balk's role in Army_of_One_(The_Sopranos) be included in this article? She appeared in the original airing, but her scenes were later reshot with another actress.

Balk is Jewish. Why is this not mentioned? (86.148.205.183 (talk) 12:38, 2 March 2022 (UTC)) |
We all know her from 'The Craft.' I don't see that listed anywhere 2600:100E:B000:A3FA:0:25:A6CC:9A01 (talk) 13:18, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
