We have tried to modify the content of the article. It is not possible because when modifying it, the original appears again.
We think it is necessary to update the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saragommezz (talk • contribs)
Your changes are being reverted because you are removing the existing, properly sourced content and replacing it with new stuff that is not reliably sourced. - MrOllie (talk) 14:25, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
We are using official sources of updated information. We only want to update the existing information because the current one is outdated Saragommezz (talk) 14:39, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You're using a collection of industry white papers and primary government sources, which are both of lower quality than the peer-reviewed, secondary sources in the current version of the article. - MrOllie (talk) 14:45, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The current references are very outdated and date from 2005 to 2013, we believe that its update is necessary Saragommezz (talk) 15:36, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Then I suggest you rewrite it based on whatever newer, peer-reviewed articles are available. But marketing materials like industry whitepapers are really not useful sources. MrOllie (talk) 15:47, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You need to write something based on reliable, secondary sources. Waiting a month and making the same edit again will not help. MrOllie (talk) 12:02, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please list the independent secondary sources that comply with Wikipedia's sourcing guidelines that have become available? We really need to avoid industry whitepapers, government documents, and other primary sources, either on this or on some new article topic. MrOllie (talk) 13:11, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Specific text to be added or removed: Remove the paragraph with the ZDNet reference
Reason for the change: The paragraph and reference were added to promote a product launch. The reference is WP:LINKSPAM - a product launch press release. Neither data spaces nor data graphs are discussed in the source.
Remove external links section
Specific text to be added or removed: Remove the external links section
Reason for the change: The only external link no-longer leads to relevent content.
Add short description
Specific text to be added or removed: Add short description "Abstraction in data management"
Reason for the change: WP:SHORTDES, "Each Wikipedia article should include a concise explanation of its scope in the form of a short description".
Reposition references
Specific text to be added or removed: Reposition existing references.
Belhajjame 2010 & 2013 - Move both to end of paragraph 1, sentence 2.
Talukdar 2010 - delete, the paper explicitly states that it is not talking about dataspaces.
Sarma 2009 and Franklin 2005 - Move to the end of paragraph 3
Howe 2008 - Move to the end of paragraph 2
Dong 2008 - Delete, mentions DSSP once, duplicating Sarma 2009, so not needed
Dong 2007 - Leave as is
Reason for the change: There is no need for eight references (WP:OVERCITE) for the first three sentences. Many of the sources have the same authors (e.g. Dong, X. and Belhajjame, K.) and contain very similar wording. Some can be more appropriately used to reference other sections.
Add link to see also
Specific text to be added or removed: Add Linked data to the see also section.
Reason for the change: It's a key principle in dataspaces.
It is not known what changes are requested to be made. Your request states "Please move third paragraph" or "reposition references". This is not clear enough of a direction. Please state your desired changes in the form of "Change x to y using z".
Change x to y using z
x
A verbatim description of the old text to be removed from the article (if any)
y
A verbatim description of the new text to be added to the article (if any)
z
A reference which verifies the requested change
Example edit request:
Please change:
The Sun's diameter is 25 miles.
↑ This is x ↑
to read as:
The Sun's diameter is 864,337 miles.
↑ This is y ↑
using as a reference:
Harinath, Prisha (2023). The Sun. Academic Press. p. 1.
↑ This is z ↑

Specific text to be added or removed: Remove the paragraph with the ZDNet reference - "Data graphs play an important role in dataspaces systems. They work on a fact based (triples or "data entities" made up of subject-predicate-object)[1] data modeling approach which supports the "pay-as-you-go" techniques described above. They support data co-existence and are therefore an ideal technique for semantic integration. Search and relational-style queries and analytics can work simultaneously on data graphs which is another important property of dataspaces."
Reason for the change: The paragraph and reference were added to promote a product launch. The reference is WP:LINKSPAM - a product launch press release. Neither data spaces nor data graphs are discussed in the source.
Change 3
Specific text to be added or removed: Delete the External links section
Reason for the change: The only external link no-longer leads to relevent content.
Change 4
Specific text to be added or removed: Add short description "Abstraction in data management"
Reason for the change:WP:SHORTDES, "Each Wikipedia article should include a concise explanation of its scope in the form of a short description".
Change 5
Specific text to be added or removed: Move references [2] and [3] to end of paragraph 1, sentence 2 (ending " ... "pay-as-you-go" fashion as it is used.")
Reason for the change: There is no need for eight references (WP:OVERCITE) for the first three sentences. These references only refer to the first two sentences.
Change 6
Specific text to be added or removed: Delete reference [4]
Reason for the change: There is no need for eight references (WP:OVERCITE) for the first three sentences. This paper explicitly states that it is not talking about dataspaces.
Change 7
Specific text to be added or removed: Move references [5] and [6] to the end of paragraph 3 (ending " ... (e.g., for commit protocols).")
Reason for the change: There is no need for eight references (WP:OVERCITE) for the first three sentences. These references can be more appropriately used to reference another section.
Change 8
Specific text to be added or removed: Move reference [7] to the end of paragraph 2 (ending " ... to set up a data integration system.")
Reason for the change: There is no need for eight references (WP:OVERCITE) for the first three sentences. This reference can be more appropriately used to reference another section.
Change 9
Specific text to be added or removed: Delete reference [8]
Reason for the change: There is no need for eight references (WP:OVERCITE) for the first three sentences. This reference mentions DSSP once, duplicating [5], so it is not needed
Change 10
Specific text to be added or removed: Add Linked data to the see also section.
Reason for the change: It's a key principle in dataspaces.

Partly done All done except #1. A page number was not provided with the reference (a reference which is 7 pages long). That actual page where the alleged copied-and-pasted text resides needs to be provided with the request. Surely the COI editor does not expect the reviewer to read 7 pages of text in order to verify the copyvio. Regards, Spintendo 00:45, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I'll open another edit request for the remaining couple of issues. MisterTech (talk) 16:08, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
