No mention of criticism? Because, IMO (which doesn't count, I understand), this "group" and its ilk have bastardized real Irish music. I'd like to see some discussion of the difference between real Irish music and the various pop-sugar forms of exploitation. Avocats (talk) 03:03, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
Perhaps in the trivia section we might add the recently-aired parody, "Celtic Ho"?

I see that a couple of people have been modifying the site listings, and I agree with keeping out most of the fan sites. The main forum should stay because it gives people a place to ask questions that really doesn't exist in the other sites. The "celticwomanloversfansite" should probably be removed as it appears to have no traffic and is more of a 'plug', whereas the main forum site has over 1,000 posts and is read by the artists. I'll let someone else remove it to avoid being in a content war. Snagor 17:21, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
While I have visited a couple of the fan sites they are typically lacking in much biographical information. i.e. age, date of birth, marital status, etc. I can tell you this much, I have never been a fan of musicians or musical groups, but these girls have won me over with their tremendous talents and amazing beauty. If all Irish women are like these girl, I am definitely coming to Ireland to find a loving Catholic wife. These girls are simply stunning....beauty, talent, and brains. God has certainly blessed each of them many times over. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 152.2.240.117 (talk • contribs) 09:31, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Hello, my name is Shane Clark. If you are into Celtic stuff, chances are you know who I am and that I am avidly working to bring awareness to the Celtic culture. I own over 400 Celtic websites and teach regularly about topics that are related to the Celts. My most recent project is on Celtic women.
I have noticed that, here on the encyclopedia, Celtic Women also redirects to Celtic Women. I feel that this is a total misrepresentation of the modern Celtic Woman who also deserves their place on the encyclopedia and should be represented properly. I feel that if they are going to redirect Celtic women to this page that a section for Celtic women should also be included.
I have recently started a social network for Celtic women and would like it to be considered as being listed as a fan site, but not just for Celtic woman, for Celtic women, as I am friends with most all of the top Celtic artists, designers etc. This site will be including biographical information on each member of the Celtic Woman band as well as biographical information on top Celtic artists like Jen Delyth etc. It's not just for the Celtic Woman music group, but also for other women such as Ciara Considine who deserve recognition and may even one day do an appearance with Celtic Woman (which may well be in the works).
I realize that my site is new, but I am someone who actually knows what they are doing when it comes to websites. The reason I started this thing is for the reasons stated below that biographical information was not included on other sites and the musicians were not represented properly. I am also working with a promoter for two of the x members of Celtic woman on this project so it has a semi-official backing. You are all most welcome to join the site and make suggestions that you feel would be appropriate... or even write biographical information about the Singers in your own blogs, groups, forums etc.
Anyway, I do not know how to fix the redirect for the Celtic women issue so I am here asking that you allow space on the Celtic Woman page where Celtic women can be recognized also. The Celtic Woman group simply does not represent the entirety of Celtic women.
I can be contacted at http://www.celtic-women.net

I'd like to add which vocalist performs the songs on all three albums so if someone has a problem with that speak now or forever hold your peace. I plan to add them in alphabetical order if a song is performed by two or more singers. --77.105.60.165 04:19, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Looks very good. I've removed the "Performed by" bit because it is redundant to the title of "Vocalists". I'll go ahead and convert the other two articles to tables as time permits. -- Huntster T • @ • C 18:03, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
See, I'm torn as to which to use. I know that Órlagh is the correct spelling and I really prefer that, but when official media uses the "easier" spelling, I feel that should be used (not to mention, I worry about unknowing folks coming along and just changing Órlagh to Órla...not that it matters). Ugh, I don't know. How about I leave it up to you two to figure something out? -- Huntster T • @ • C 08:21, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay, so I've taken the liberty to remake the article. Please take a look and let me know if you see any errors. What I haven't included is information about the world tours. While there needs to be some information, it doesn't need to be exhaustive (such as including detailed stop information or song listings), and I haven't found much in the way of verifiable data regarding them. Otherwise, I'll begin working on the album articles next week, and will add what chart data that I can. -- Huntster T • @ • C 09:23, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
One of the links is wrong, David Downes is Irish and considerably younger than the New Zealander the page links to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.129.249.240 (talk) 14:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
I created a footer template to make it easier to navigate around the pages. Hopefuly it makes it easier for someone else also. You can click on the links in the top left of the template to adjust it as necessary with new album releases and whatever else may need to be linked to on all pages of the group. Apart from the first 2 albums and 2 editions of the 3rd, are there any special editions, or DVDs with bonus CDs? Worldwide? --77.105.57.235 02:00, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
On amazon.com there is a set entiltled "Celtic Woman Complete Collection" that containes all four Celtic Woman DVDs.[1]Celticguy94 17:20, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Hayley Westenra has been listed as a former member of the group, but there is no source or citation to remove her from the current members. It makes sense that, since she came on board to alternate with Méav, and since Lynn Hilary has taken Méav's place, Hayley is no longer needed. But again, that is only speculation. Are there any official reports to confirm this?
I have not seen or heard any offical news of Hayley Westenas membership status on Celtic Woman, but I do know that Meav is no longer a Celtic Woman and her name should be moved to the "Former Members" list. Celticguy94 00:05, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
I heard the same news. Meav did the Christmas DVD with the group. I hope we get her back. We can't afford to lose Meav. It won't be the same without her. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.2.240.114 (talk) 23:33, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh do I ever agree. We can't afford to lose Meav. Hayley is a great addition and although I have yet to see or hear Lynn it won't be the same. All I can say to those in charge....GET MEAV BACK! We've already lost Lisa Kelly to maternity leave for this spring according to their official site. What's next NO Mairead? As usual they seem messing with a good thing and it could be fatal. I hope not.
On her offical website, she listed herself as 'formerly of Celtic Woman' and 'Méav has left Celtic Woman to focus on her solo career'. I'll move her to former member list.--Cahk 11:42, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Can anyone provide info on the song the girls recorded with Anne Murray on her latest album (Duets: Friends & Legends)? I'm quite curious which of the girls made their appearance on the track Song for the Mira, originally written by Allister MacGillivray? --77.105.23.108 (talk) 21:55, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
I think missing from the short list at the top of the article of the popularity of Irish music, along with Riverdance, is mention of Mary Dillon's former group, Deanta, mention of Cara Dillon, and even the touch you hear in songs from Celine Dion. There's the influence for the original Riverdance. And there are the Narada 'samplers' of various artists, including I think a couple in this Celtic Woman cast.
This article currently specifies David Downes, but in articles such as this one Sharon Browne gets the credit. -micro —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.112.192.100 (talk) 01:22, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
I took the liberty of adding two compilations to the "Discography" section. The first one, "An Irish Journey" was released in France in october 2011, and feature one new track, "The Water is Wide", sung by Lisa Kelly, Lisa Lambe, Chloe Agnew and Mairead Nesbitt, with the Bagad Lann Bihoué. The second, "A Celtic Christmas", will be released shortly (november 25th 2011) in Germany, and feature two new songs: "An Angel" and "There Must Be An Angel (Plying With My Heart)". It would also be interesting to list "A Celtic Family Christmas", which they did with The High Kings, but, as I don't know the release date, I didn't put it there. I also added "Believe", their newest album. Unfortunately, as the page for that new album doesn't exist right now (the page "Believe" is about the japanese compilation), it links there. Maybe someone who's better at this than me could make the necessary modifications ?

I think the article would greatly benefit from a graphic or chart mapping out who was part of the band when. Who wants to make it? 1 2 3 not it. 67.164.156.42 (talk) 09:00, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
In the Celtic Woman's site is not announced about the departure of Lisa Lambe, even her name is still as present not former. Gui Pitta (talk) 00:57, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

I note that newest member Muirgen O'Mahony is the only Celtic Woman without her own Wikipedia article. Perhaps one would be appropriate. I might take that on at some point, unless someone else jumps in first. Assambrew (talk) 22:45, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
