This article was nominated for merging with Newt Gingrich on January 20, 2012. The result of the discussion was Keep articles separate. |
The inclusion of “third wife” and “mistress” has been debated on this page in the past. It is a fact primarily about her husband, not her, and belongs on Newt’s page. It’s too much detail in the lead and is in any event mentioned below in the article, in the personal life section. Cindy McCain isn’t introduced as “the second wife of John McCain.” “Married” is a neutral way of describing the relationship that is appropriate for the lead.

I have been cleaning up this article with edits that are pretty minor (mostly organization and tense changes) but I want to flag the edit I just made to the Ambassador section of Career. The previous version of this section was entirely based on one negative article about her husband and did not cover what Gingrich actually did while in the role of Ambassador to the Holy See. I replaced the section with new text citing multiple sources in what I believe is a neutral tone. However, I am flagging this for help because I am not a neutral party and am seeking a neutral editor to look at this. Joedesantis1 (talk) 14:40, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
