Takab-e Kuhmish Rural District (Persian: دهستان تكاب كوه ميش) is in the Central District of Sheshtamad County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.[3] Its capital is the village of Tondok.[4]
At the National Census of 2016, its population (as a part of the former Sheshtamad District of Sabzevar County) was 5,000 in 1,435 households.[5] There were 4,758 inhabitants in 1,504 households at the following census of 2011.[6] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 4,126 in 1,422 households. The most populous of its 45 villages was Tondok, with 1,434 people.[2]
In February 2019, the district was separated from the county to establish Sheshtamad County and divided into two districts, each with two rural districts. The city of Sheshtomad became the new county's capital.[3] The village of Shamkan was later elevated to the status of a city and became the capital of Shamkan District.[7]
