Srungara Ramudu (English: Romantic Rama) is a 1979 Telugu, Action drama film, produced by Rama Murthy on Satyatai Productions banner[2] and directed by K. Shankar.[3] Starring N. T. Rama Rao, Latha in the lead roles[4] and music composed by K. V. Mahadevan.[5]
The film begins at Kashmir where four friends Rama Narayana (Prabhakar Reddy), Lakshmi Narayana (Thyagaraju), Govinda Narayana (Ch. Krishna Murthy) & Satyanarayana (Ram Mohan) start up a bank in the name of Narayana & Co. All of them live like one family. Even their children also close friends. Lakshmi Narayana has a son Rajaram, Govinda Narayana has a son Jaipal and a daughter Rita at last Satyanarayana has a daughter Shanti. Time passes, the bank earns huge fame & profits. Here bad intention arires in the minds of Rama Narayana & Lakshmi Narayana both of them runaway with the money killing Govinda Narayana and putting the blame on Satyanarayana. Govinda Narayana before dying briefs everything to his children and they decided to take revenge against them. While Satyanarayana commits suicide along with his wife Seeta (Dubbing Janaki) due to insult. Knowing about her husband's depravities Lakshmi Narayana's wife Jaya (Pandari Bai) leaves him and goes to an Ashram.
Years roll by, Lakshmi Narayana passes away and his son Rajaram (N. T. Rama Rao) becomes a millionaire. Jaipal (Sarath Babu) & Rita (Jayamalini) are in the process of taking revenge. According to it Rita marries old Rama Narayana. Jaipal tries to trap Rajaram by inviting him to Kashmir on a business deal. Rajaram leaves to Kashmir taking his mother's blessing and she too sends him happy because he must come to know the truth and do penance for his father’s sins. In Kashmir Rajaram gets acquaintance with a beautiful girl Shanti (Latha) and loves her. After some time, he recognizes her as his childhood friend. From Shanti, Rajaram comes to know regarding the atrocity & injustice done by his father & Rama Narayana and also sees the public who are still suffering loosing their money. He immediately reaches his mother and she reveals the entire truth. Now Rajaram decides to do justice to each & everyone. He changes his attire and in various forms of disguise recollects the money and gives back along with his money also to the public at 10 times more than their investment and they praises him a lot. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Rajaram & Shanti.
