Shilovsky District (Russian: Ши́ловский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[7] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in Ryazan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,390 square kilometers (920 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Shilovo.[2] Population: 40,334 (2010 Census);[4] 44,197 (2002 Census);[9] 52,202 (1989 Soviet census).[10] The population of Shilovo accounts for 38.9% of the district's total population.[4]
