The Sharjah Light Festival[1] (Arabic: مَهْرَجَان أَضْوَاء ٱلشَّارْقَة, romanized: Mahrajān Aḍwāʾ Aš-Šārjah) is a light show that takes place annually in the Emirate of Sharjah, the U.A.E.[2] The festival was first established in 2010 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and has since become an integral part of the city's cultural landscape.[3][4][5][6]
Thirteen landmarks and locations in Sharjah will be illuminated as part of the festival:[2][6]
