Sevastopol National University of Nuclear Energy and Industry is a Ukrainian University.

History

The main study building was designed by an outstanding architect A. Vensan in 1913. The foundation of the building was laid in 1915, and the Second Marine Military School for Russian Empire Navy officers training was situated there.

From 1924 till 1931 it was the base of naval pilots college, that later was moved to Yeysk. In 1951 there was created Third Navy Engineering College.

Engineer-mechanics for submarine force were trained in college starting from 1954.

Later in 1964 the college was renamed – the Sevastopol Higher Navy Engineering College trained specialists for nuclear submarine force. With restoration of Ukraine independence the engineering departments of navy Institute of Navy Force of Ukraine were situated in the Sevastopol Higher Navy Engineering College.

Moreover, in that period the faculty for Ukraine Nuclear Power Engineering specialist training was formed. It was formed under Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 884 from August 2, 1996 on the base of Sevastopol Naval Institute NPP faculty (earlier Sevastopol Higher Naval Engineering College).

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No.305/2002 from March 27, 2002 the Institute is given National status. According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No.2/2005 “Concerning Sevastopol National University of Nuclear Energy and Industry” and Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No.159P from May 26, 2005 the Institute was reorganized to University – Sevastopol National University of Nuclear Energy and Industry.
