Sarov Monastery, turn of the 20th century

The Monastery of the Dormition of the Mother of God is located in Sarov, Russia.

The monastery was established for monks in 1706 and existed until 1925. It was reactivated in 2006. It is under the jurisdiction of the Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church of Nizhny Novgorod. The hermit and mystic Seraphim of Sarov, one of the most venerated saints of the Russian Orthodox church, is connected to this monastery.
