Romanovsky District (Russian: Рома́новский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the western central part of the krai. The area of the district is 2,082 square kilometers (804 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Romanovo.[1] Population: 13,179 (2010 Russian census);[3] 15,412 (2002 Census);[7] 16,111 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Romanovo accounts for 42.7% of the district's total population.[3]
