The thirteenth season of the American police procedural drama NCIS premiered on September 22, 2015, in the same time slot as in the previous seasons, Tuesdays at 8 pm.[1]

NCIS revolves around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which conducts criminal investigations involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The series was renewed for a thirteenth season by CBS on Monday, May 11, 2015.[2][3][4]

Production

Production on the 13th season started in late July.[4] Guest stars for the season opener were Jon Cryer (Dr. Cyril Taft), Muse Watson (Mike Franks), Daniel Zolghadri (Luke Harris), Giles Matthey (Daniel Budd), David Andrews (U.S. Secretary of Defense Errol Coyne), Adetokumboh McCormack (Matthew Rousseau), Kenny Leu (CIA Officer Kenny Young), Hector Hugo (Navy Commander Fred Lewis), Katie Roberts (Navy Surgical Tech Ensign Joni Ryan), Mila Brener (Kelly Gibbs), Kent Shocknek (ZNN News Reporter Guy Ross), Jim Lau (Old Vendor), and Donnabella Mortel (Navy Corpsman).[1][5][6] John Gabriel guest starred as DEA Special Agent Luis "Mitch" Mitchell in the second episode of the season.[7] Eric Matheny guest stars as Former NCIS Agent Kip Klugman in episode four.[8] Tony Gonzalez guest starred as NCIS Special Agent Tony Francis in 5th episode of the season.[9] Kelli Williams guest starred as NCIS Special Agent Maureen Cabot in the sixth episode of the season.[10] Matthew John Armstrong and Jessica Walter guest starred as Navy Seaman Michael Hayes and Judith McKnight in the seventh episode respectively.[11] Scottie Thompson guest starred in episode eight as Jeanne Benoit, Tony's ex-girlfriend.[12][13] Joel Gretsch, Annie Tedesco, Gabriel Hogan, and Katie Roberts guest starred as NCIS Special Agent Stan Burley, Navy Doctor Lieutenant Liz Cortland, Navy Seal Commander Pete Grady, and Navy Surgical Tech Ensign Joni Ryan respectively in episode eight.[13] Jeremy Ratchford, Kelly Blatz, Tom T. Choi, and Miles Wood will guest star in episode nine as Baltimore Police Detective Ramsey Malone, Navy Petty Officer Third Class Kyle Friedgen, Navy Commander Bradley Hall, and Detective James Green respectively.[14] Pat Harvey and Tug Coker will also guest star in episode nine as ZNN Reporter and Assistant State's Attorney Alan Wyner respectively.[14] Lindsay Wagner and Ryan Doom guest starred as Barbara and George Bishop, Ellie Bishop's mother and brother in episode 10.[15] Patricia Bethune guest starred as Paulette Quinn Grantham Coleman (Former Army Sergeant Richard Doogan) in episode 10.[15] Christopher Murray, Adam Campbell, Adam Croasdell, Andy Walken, Sewell Whitney, Susan Duerden, and David Carey Foster will guest star as Joseph Mallard, Young Ducky, Young Angus Clarke, Young Nicholas Mallard, Nicholas Mallard, Lorraine Mallard, and Nicholas Mallard respectively in the eleventh episode of the season.[16]
